Today it was me and my girlfriend Irene, 3 years anniversary and I wanted to surprise her at work. She was a famous singer in a group called Red Velvet, we firstly met each other 5 years back in a elevator, we were stuck in it for 3 and a half hours. I already knew about her fame and told her I was a fan. Being stuck for so long, gave us the chance to know each other better, so we exchanged numbers and ta-da!
I was Korea best girl group leader's girlfriend.
Luckily the public accepted us, although, there were still close minded and delusional people who just couldn't think this was okay.
We got renamed as the "Best Good Looking Couple To Ever Live On The Planet" in short "The Top Couple". Because of our beauty, yes, even mine, I got quite famous and became a model, all because of some photoshoot we did together for Allure Korea.
Anyway, back to my present situation.
I gulped and took a deep breath, for then make my way to Red Velvet as my mind kept racing.
Gosh, will she like these flowers? Will she be happy to see me while she's working? Will she hate me? Omg! I'm so nervous.
I touched the box in my pocket and sighed mumbling to myself «Please say yes...»
Everyone knew I was coming and about my plan. Anyone but Irene. Or else it wouldn't have been a surprise.
As I reached the back door a security guard saw me and smiled asking me «So, it's the big day uh? Are you ready?» I chuckled «I feel as if I'm gonna pass out at any moment.» He chuckled «Good luck Jisoo-ssi.» he opened the door and let me in.
Red Velvet was doing a concert and as of now were on stage performing psycho. I looked on the tv their live performance thinking...
Gosh, that's my woman everyone!! That talented goddess is my girlfriend! I'm so lucky!
I waited till the performance was done and just like planned, Wendy grabbed the microphone and said «Everyone, are you having fun?» a loud cheer was heard as she said «I need you to do something because, why not? Could you all please take out your phone, turn on the light and wave it like this please? To the chosen people, please turn your lightsticks on at my signal!» Irene looked confused at her as she asked her something, most likely what she was doing, as Wendy just shrugged, which left Irene perplexed but went along with her group mate want.
I quickly moved behind the stage and took a big breath, drying once again my sweaty hands as Yeri locked eyes with me and nodded, telling something to Joy, who ran off and told the music staff to start the base of a specific song, mine and Irene's song.
The base of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri started as I grabbed the microphone from Seulgi who had sneakily reached me. I was going to sing, in front of thousands of people just for Irene, my Irene. I hid behind my back the bouquet of flowers as a video with photos and videos of us started showing behind her. She gasped in hearing my voice and walk out, as I motioned with my head to watch at the video of us. Which she did. As I sang and remaining of the opposite part of the stage, getting closer very, very slowly, so that when the song would have reached the end, I would have been by her side.
As I saw tears left her beautiful eyes, I had to stop myself from running and pull her closer to me. I couldn't stand her crying. Nonetheless I went on, moving my eyes from Juhyun to the screen then back to Juhyun. The fans were doing their job with the lights, making the atmosphere look more romantic and magical.
Once the song was done and the video as well, I was by her side, the flowers still hidden as she turned around in tears and asked me confused yet smiling «What the hell are you doing?» I smiled at her and showed her the flowers making her gasp «Today we make 3 years together baby. I can't describe how lucky and happy I feel. People would kill to be in my place. Yet I had the luck to have you. It all started in that elevator. Bless the elevator.» I made us and everyone else chuckle «I wanted to surprise you. Do something special. And, you're members, the staff and even the ReVeluvs helped in this. I was so nervous, I'm not even sure you're happy I'm here while you work.» «Of course I'm happy you idiot.» she scoffed pushing me a little making me smile «Oh wow. Now I'm so nervous that I completely forgot my speech so, I'll see what I come up with.» I cleared my throat for then start «Dear Bae Joohyun, my beautiful Irene and girlfriend, my sweetie pie, ray of sunshine, cupcake. The ice to my cream. I swear I had an amazing speech, but everytime I see you I seem to forget everything and my mind fills with only your imagine. I love you so much that I can't put it into words. Just like our song said I've loved you for a thousands, well three to be honest, I will love you for a thousands and more so, today I'm here because I want to ask you something.» Irene's eyes widened, as her tears started again «No you didn't.» I raised my eyebrows twice then moved my head to signal her to look at the fans. Once she did she gasped and covered her mouth with one hand. At Wendy signal, the ReVeluvs in charge turned on their lightsticks, forming the sentence "Will you marry me?". While she was looking there I quickly kneeled down and took out the box opening it and showing the ring. Once she turned around she gasped and cried even more «Don't cry my Joohyun. I don't like to see you cry.» I told her as she was sobbing, which made me tear up. She wasn't answering me so I was about to get my heartbroken when she said «Yes. Yes Kim Jisoo, I'll be your wife.» I smiled wildly and cried as well, I placed the ring in her finger and stood up to hug her and then kiss her passionately. Surrounded by the cheers of the fans, her members and staff clapping, some of them crying while smiling at us.
«I love you so so much Bae Joohyun.» I said cupping her face and looking in her eyes, while she had her arms around my neck as she said «I love you more Bae Jisoo.» I raised an eyebrow «Bae?» She nodded as I passed my thumbs to dry her tears «You're gonna be officially mine and people need to know.» I chuckled «I think everybody will know.»
