Max and Mike had been working together for a few weeks now and they weren't hating it. Max avoided him most of the time but not obviously, they both had general conversations and sometimes felt as though they were sort of friends, just not close.

Steve and Robin had worked at family video for years. Since Robin had gone to college, she had come back to work during holidays. After this summer was over she was heading to Chicago for her internship, where she'd still take on shifts at the store when she was home. Steve worked four days a week at family video alongside his part time office job at the local realtors.

The pair observed Mike and Max, wondering if one of them would give in and put their pride aside. But it didn't happen. They thought back to the New Years fair a few years back and how their friends all reacted to them kissing on the Ferris wheel.

Robin: Do you think they continued hooking up after new years?

She laughed, finding the whole thing entertaining.

Steve: I have no clue I mean Dustin said they all sort of moved on and acted as if nothing had happened. But I don't know if they just stayed together secretly for a while? Dustin doesn't think they did though apparently they just stopped talking completely and ignored each other at school.

Robin: That's crazy how that happened so quickly.

Steve: I know it's strange really. But I think it's really because El and Lucas kicked off which is understandable but they had also broken up so-

Robin: So stupid. Teenage romance is just so stupid. I mean none of it will matter in a few years.

Steve: I mean yeah but it can feel very real. Being in love.

Robin: You think Max and Mike were in love?

Steve: Well. I don't know maybe.

Robin: I don't know how I even feel about love. Like true real love does that even exist like it is in books and movies?

Steve: Honestly... I don't know.

Robin: You can tell with those two that they did have a good thing. It's just been fucked up somehow.

Steve: Yeah I agree.

The pair stood at the counter as they watched Mike and Max stack the display shelves on the opposite side of the room.

Maybe it doesn't have to be over between them.

Robin: What are you suggesting Steve?

Steve: Well you said so yourself when you took them out the closet they seemed pretty close. Like maybe something had happened or was going to happen.

Robin: I mean yeah it certainly looked that way.

Steve: Well... Maybe we could help them resolve things...
