Keep your life, but I am giving the Narnians back their freedom.Leona's pov
I looked out the castle window. My Aunt Prunaprimsa wasn't feeling well. That could get anyone worried. Anyone expect Caspian, who never was. He asked all the questions but never showed a trace of worry.
"Leona, "I hear someone at my door.
I turn round to find my older brother, Caspian.
"Caspian!" I cry," She alright," but he puts his hand over my mouth.
"You have to go," I hear another voice say.
"Dr. Cornelius! Why!" I ask.
"You talk too much for a 14-year-old girl," Dr. Cornelius whispered.
"Miraz has had a son and he's out to kill your brother." Dr. Cornelius explained.
I keep quiet now, Dr. Cornelius is my brother's tutor. Mine too, but Miraz doesn't know that. Dr. Cornelius is a half-dwarf. He told us stories about the old Narnia, where there were fauns, dryads, centaurs, and talking animals. I am fascinated by them, but Miraz forbids anyone from telling us about what Narnia was before the Telmarines took over. So he's in grave danger.
Our tutor leads us to the room, where the weapons are stored. Caspian and I both grab a sword and I pull on my cloak.
We manage to get past the guards and down to the stable. Destyra is already saddled and ready for us.
Caspian gets on her first then I climb on. I hold unto him tightly.
"You must head for the woods," Dr. Cornelius tells us.
"The woods," Caspian asked.
"But aren't the woods full of ghosts!" I exclaim, frightened.
"Which is why they won't follow you there," he replies.
He hands Caspian something that looks like a horn."It has taken me many years to find this."
"Don't use it except at your greatest need."
Caspian stuffs the horn in his pocket.
"Will, I ever see you again," I ask.
"I dearly hope so my princess and prince," he looks at Caspian, "There is so much more I meant to tell you. Everything you know is about to change."
I shiver at the way he says it.
"Now go," he slaps the back of Destyra, sending the horse into a run. I hear fireworks as we leave. Someone shouts, "Miraz has had a son."
I look behind us, as we cross the drawbridge. General Glozelle and some of his men were chasing us.
"Caspian!" I cry, "Hurry!"
My brother makes his horse run into a full gallop. I hold onto him tighter.
We ride into the woods. Now I'm scared; ever since I was a little girl, I'd been told the woods were full of ghosts.
We don't expect the soldiers to follow us, but I look behind my shoulder again and hear the gallop of horses.
We reach the forest out alright, but there's a river in front of us.
"What do we do, now," I ask my brother.
"You worry too much, Leona," Caspian sighs, "The river isn't too deep."
As Destyra crosses my dress gets wet. I gasp at the cold.
I look behind, the soldiers don't seem to want to give up. One fellow falls off, his horse. I can't help but stifle a laugh.
We reach the end of the river and back into a fresh wood.
This time Caspian looks behind us. I see a tree branch in front of us."Duck!" I cry.
I followed my advice, but Caspian didn't and the headache, I imagine he got a bad one.
Destrya drags him by the saddle. I panic; I pull the reins, "Stop! You stupid horse!" I yell.
She won't listen. Caspian finally kicks loose from the saddle, and I jump off. Caspian's faithful horse runs off, without us.
"Are you alright?" I ask my brother as he rubs his head.
"Yeah," he nods, "You could have saved me a headache you know!"
I laugh, "You could have paid attention," my expression changed quickly."What's that?" I hear a door open.
I move closer to Caspian, who puts a hand on my shoulder.
From a little door in a tree come out to dwarves.
One has a red beard and the other a black aged one."They've seen us!" One says.
The red-bearded one sees the horn at Caspian's feet. I hear horses coming, General Glozelle! Caspian pushes me behind him. I can see fear in his eyes. He looks at his sword, but there's no point.
"I'll take care of them," Red Beard tells Grey Beard, running over to the soldiers.
"Caspian, the horn," I whisper.
My brother grabs the horn and blows it.
"No!" Cries grey beard. He gives my brother a blow to the head.
