Verity's povPeter and I made our way to Miraz's room. We had trouble finding it, though.
First, we came to the baby's room. The baby was so cute, dressed in royal clothing.
I smiled at it. "Isn't he the cutest thing?"
"Where did that come from?" Peter asked, making me sober up.
"Didn't you know Miraz had a son?" I pulled my brother out of the room.
At that moment, I saw a sword right in front of me, pointing at my throat.
"I found you, Thornea. Now I can finally avenge my father's blood. Your father's dead anyways; he isn't Lord Erevos anymore!" I looked up to see a young lord; he couldn't have been older than Peter.
"Thornea? What are you talking about?" I asked, confused and yet scared.
Peter unsheathed his sword. "Now, whoever you are, let go of my sister!"
My heart pounded a mile a minute, and I found Peter's hand and held onto it as tightly as I could, backing up against him until I felt his chest touch my back.
"You didn't succeed, though, cousin; I'm Lord Raven," he smiled fanatically.
"She isn't Thornea or whoever you think she is, so like I said, let her go," Peter said firmly.
I found the strength to kick the man's shin. He yelped in pain and dropped his sword, and Peter and I ran down the corridor; what we saw was more trouble.
Leona's pov
Susan and Leona ran after her brother. "Caspian! Stop!" she yelled. "Don't even think of challenging Miraz!"
They reached Miraz's room, where Caspian was pointing a sword at their uncle, who chuckled upon seeing him. "Thank goodness you're safe.""Get up," Caspian ordered unmercifully.
Leona heard Aunt Prunsampia say, "Caspian." She looked at Leona. "Leona?"
"Caspian, please don't," Leona pleaded desperately.
"Stay where you are," her brother ordered Aunt Prunsampia.
"What are you doing?" she asked, puzzled and surprised.
"I should think this obvious, dear," Miraz hinted as Caspian pointed a sword at him.
"Caspian, we have other things to tend to," Susan said, pointing her bow and arrow at Miraz.
"That doesn't seem to have stopped you," Caspian replied, moving closer to Miraz.
"But you are not like me," their uncle grunted. "It's sad. The first time you've shown a backbone, and it's such a waste."
"Put the sword down, Caspian," Aunt Prunsampia said threateningly, holding a crossbow pointed at her brother.
"You put the crossbow down," Leona shouted, pulling out her sword. "That's not true, Caspian, and you know it."
"I don't want you to do this," her aunt said.
"Well, you can, but I don't think we'd want to lose a comrade in arms," Verity came in with Peter.
Leona glared at her; she could be so cruel.
"Verity," Susan scolded her sister, shocked at her behavior. "What's wrong with you?"
They both pointed their swords at Miraz."You know this used to be a private room," Miraz commented, annoyed.
"What are you doing? You're supposed to be in the gatehouse with Beth and Andrew," Peter said, upset.
"My guess was he couldn't follow orders," Verity sighed sarcastically.
