A/N: I hope you're having a good day! <3
"You didn't have to push me," Liam groaned finding himself in yet another one of Brett's pitiful ways of apologising, "seriously Brett, I don't care if we keep shit on the down low but don't push me, I didn't like that."
Brett took a breath before nodding, using Liam's heartbeat to anchor himself. "Look, you're right. I panicked okay? Justin was all over you and I got protective, then you grabbed me and I freaked out... I didn't mean it."
Liam nodded, "okay, just don't do it again yeah?" He said, satisfied when Brett nodded. "That party was a bust anyways, I should have just stayed home."
"It wasn't that bad," Brett smiled, leaning closer as Liam's back pressed against the chalkboard. While everyone else was outside for lunch, Brett had practically dragged Liam inside.
"It could have been better," Liam said, his hand brushing Brett's face as he cupped his cheek. "We could have had a party of our own," he said in a suggestive tone, peaking Brett's interest.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah." Liam leaned forward, connecting their lips. "We could have been together, just the two of us... nobody else around." Liam's hips raised as he met Brett's needy touch.
Brett smirked, "oh if you give me that chance I will take it," he said amused. Hearing footsteps approach he backed away, "so if you need any help with-" the door opened.
"Are you guys okay?" Justin asked upon entering, finding himself following either Brett or Liam around a lot more than usual, "I thought we had practice today?"
Brett suppressed a growl, "we do," he said shaking his head. "In two hours," he added in an annoyed tone, "so why don't you get out and I'll see you at practice yeah?"
Justin rolled his eyes, meeting Liam's gaze and giving him a smile before turning and exiting the room. "I don't like him," Liam said with a shudder, "he's weird."
Brett nodded, "I'm pretty sure nobody likes him," he snickered. Justin was human, Brett could tell. So, he didn't pose a real threat, but Liam still belonged to him. No human or werewolf was going to change that.
"Just stay away from him, ok?" Brett said although it was more of a request, considering Liam didn't quite enjoy the other boy's company he found himself nodding much to Brett's joy, "Okay good, I'll see you at practice."
Practice was good, better than good. Liam had been improving and everyone could tell, especially Brett who was more than happy to praise him in front of the whole team. "If you keep complimenting him you might as well confess your love," one of the boys teased.
Liam rolled his eyes at the comment, noticing the way it effected Brett. "That sounds pretty gay if you ask me," another guy added. Liam's hand clenched around his lacrosse stick, trying to ignore the homophobic comments.
Brett seemed to be doing the same thing, his eyes closed as his nostrils flared. Searching for something to anchor himself to, boom-boom-boom. He found it, Liam's heartbeat. The human's heart was soothing, its calming rhythm brought his messy mind peace.
"Alright let's wrap it up yeah?" Brett said bringing everyone in, "game next week, first game of the season so no half assing around- got it?" his teammates nodded. "We got to be prepared, we have to train, and we have to be at our peak, I don't want to see any fuckery on the field, understood?"
They nodded and Brett finished his speech, "you're a god coach," Liam said. Hr wasn't always good with his words, but he knew he should probably be complimenting Brett too, Brett couldn't help but smile.
Liam's awkwardness was adorable, his big blue eyes and bright smile always made him happy. "Thanks," he said before meeting the boy's gaze. "Do you want to come back to mine? I got a new video game I think you'll like," Brett suggested.
Liam's phone buzzed, "I should probably go home, my parents won't be happy if I'm out every night- but I could ask them about doing it tomorrow?" Liam asked, hoping to find a compromise. His phone buzzed again but he ignored it, "my dad's probably here so I should go, but ill text you."
Brett nodded, "aright, text me." Brett watched as Liam jogged towards the locker room to get his stuff and presumably leave. If it was up to him Liam would be coming home with him, but he couldn't control him- he wouldn't.
Liam saw his step dad's car and rushed towards it, "sorry got caught up," he said upon entering the car. "Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked before tossing his duffle into the back seat.
David smiled, "you seem happy, genuinely happy." David started the car, "it's nice to see you smile, living a normal life." He began to reverse until they were on the road, turning on the radio knowing Liam liked listening to music while he drove.
"Well, I am happy- really happy actually," Liam perked up, "I think im even making new friends," he said hesitantly. David smile and continued to drive, Liam used that time to check his phone.
'Hey Li, got ur number off a friend. Hope u don't mind :P'
Liam frowned at the text, they didn't even say who it was? That was odd and a little weird, Mason wouldn't give his number to just anyone. Trying not to show his concern he texted them back.
'Who's this?'
He waited for the reply, but it never came. Leaving Liam in a pool of confusion and anxiety, he wasn't the biggest people person and he didn't think Mason would give his number to anyone but not many other people had his number to begin with.
Garrett did though, maybe Garrett gave it to someone? Hopefully time would tell and he would wake up to a reply from the mystery person, that would make him feel a lot better knowing who it was from. Maybe tomorrow he would have his answers, or not?
A/N: I wonder who the texts from lol
