Chapter 5

"He's so hot." groans Patrick, gazing longingly at Oli Sykes.
"Shut up." me and Ray say in unison, because we really can't be bothered with Patrick's stupid crush today, and we were never bothered in the first place, because fuck, I already have problems of my own with a certain teacher.
"Ray's been counting, and you've said that seven-point-five times. SEVEN-POINT-FUCKING-FIVE!"
"Why the point-five?"
"Because in one of them I interrupted you."
"Bah." Patty scowls.
"You have to get over him!" I exclaim.

"Relationships are stupid."

"How so? You're such a hater. Why do hate the idea of loving someone so much?"
"Cause it's stupid and it always ends badly. I just don't believe in it." I huff.

"One day you'll find someone, and you'll change your mind."

"Pfft, says the dude who's asexual."

"Hey!" defends Ray.
"Good point though."

Patty then turns around.
"I have an idea. New mission. Get Frank a boyfriend!"
Ray agrees and smirks at me, most likely thinking up awful ideas already. I blush deep red and try to change the subject, not used to being the centre of attention.

"I'm okay being single." I say quietly. "I don't wanna be set up on a blind date with some dickcheese you think I'll like!"

"Okay, okay, well don't say we didn't try, asshole."
"Dickface."
"Twat."
"Prick."
"Dickcheese."
"Fucker."
"Shitface."
"Idiot."
"Cocksucker."
"Dumbass."

"KILLJOY."
"Shut the fuck up..."

Patty's eyes dart back to Mr Sykes.
"Are you freaking kidding me?"
"You're drooling."
"I am not drooling! I just find him attractive."
"I think that's an understatement."

Everyone sniggers, and I just look down sadly because I know Patty will be rejected. And it might even break his heart.

And it makes all my fantasies about Mr Way disappear, as if they never did exist. Because the idea is stupid, and it is ridiculous, and me and Mr Way will never work out together.
