A throbbing and unbearable pain shoots through my head as my eyes flutter and try to stay open. An immense amount of pain courses through my stomach as I try to look down. I feel... almost at ease, peaceful, like this hellish nightmare is finally coming to an end. Blood pours out of my wound whilst bullets are flying hitting numerous people; watching their bodies hit the ground seeing their face turn cold, lifeless.

I feel someone rush to my side; panic filled her voice. Everything was becoming hazy; my vision was deceiving me... it couldn't be her..

"Nova... Nova please.. please don't leave me. You're gonna be okay babe, keep your eyes open and breathe please you can't leave me!"

I tried my best to follow the girls' instructions, yet the pain was turning into numbness, it felt so easy to just... slip away. I was so close yet so far from getting away from this place. From her. I no longer wanted to be saved if it meant I had to come back here and never get my normal life back.

As blood emerged in my mouth I began to choke as the warm metal taste took over my tastebuds, it was getting harder to breathe. I prayed in that moment, that that would be my final breath. Unfortunately, my body felt I had more life to live.

For what felt like hours, days even, I saw multiple flashing lights. The same red and blue pattern in the far distant is all I could focus on in that moment. I thought "There is no way those lights are here for me, to save me." I figured it was hallucinations, figment of my imagination that came along with the unbearable gunshot wounds. The girl was sobbing, hyperventilating whilst trying to comfort me and reassure me I would make it, I didn't want to make it.

"We're almost there love p-please... please just hang on, I can't go o-on without you." Her words were slurred together yet she stumbled over them as she tried to catch her breath from carrying me, bawling and running as fast as her legs could take her. Being carried in her arms, I felt my head go back and forth as she ran on the rough terrain yet we were no longer running; she stopped. My eyes, fluttered with confusion yet tiredness as I attempted to look around my surroundings and sure enough, the lights were for me.

I close my eyes and just prayed this was a dream, none of this was real... it couldn't be.

I feel my body get passed to a man, his muscular arms grab ahold of my limp body. He sets me down gently making sure to not escalate any of the pain any further. I open my eyes to an oxygen mask strapped to my face, blood seeping from my abdomen and thigh and the girl.. staring at me with regret and guilt yet I can see in her deep brown eyes that her guilt is overpowering her. Her eyes have always looked so empty and soulless. Every conversation felt like staring into a black hole, a void with no emotion. Yet in this moment I saw her eyes start to well up with tears as we hold eye contact before my eyes shut again.

As we ride in the ambulance, the men are trying everything in their power to help me yet it's not enough for her. Through her deafening sobs all I could make out was her attempting to say,

"If you don't save her lord help us all, I will kill every single last one of you fuckers. Do you understand what I'm saying?!" She reached into the pocket of her jeans and rummaged through in an attempt to find something, something in which I knew was dangerous. Danger was always somehow involved when it came to her.

A sleek black gun was drawn and aimed at every last person in this ambulance. She waved it around at the men, she would never hesitate to pull the trigger. I had to learn the hard way.

"If one of you hurts her.. even in the slightest, i won't hesitate to blow your fucking head off." She looked at each of the men waiting for them to oblige and help. One of the men came to me and carefully squat down to inspect the bullet wounds in my stomach. He gently put his hand down to try and stop the bleeding. I slightly squirmed and winced as his hand pressed down.

A loud pop echoed throughout the vehicle. I opened my eyes and there was a warm gooey liquid on my face.. i knew that feeling all too well.. blood. I fully opened my eyes and glanced around, he was dead. She killed him. I wasn't surprised or taken back, just disgusted yet I couldn't understand why her actions made me fall for her even harder.

<15 Minutes Later>

We shortly arrived at the hospital, three guys dead in the back of that ambulance yet knowing her, I know she'd make sure nobody would find out. She was always careful covering up her tracks. She picked me up and carried me yet again,

"We're here babe, just a little longer.. please just hold on for me please. I got you, you're safe."

Those were the last words I heard from her that day.
