Esperanza slipped out of her cell.  Peering up and down the empty corridor she saw a glow of candlelight coming from a door that was left ajar.  She approached slowly and cautiously.
Someone was snoring.  She pushed the door open carefully and peaked in to find the guard who had given her one meal a day for the past 4 days passed out behind his desk, a bottle of brandy on the table.
She grabbed the bottle of brandy and positioned herself behind him.  Taking a long swig of what was left in the bottle she felt her insides burn.  It chilled her with pleasure and with a burst of energy she grasped the neck of the bottle firmly.
"HEY!" She yelled and the man came awake suddenly.
"What the—" he rasped before she swung the bottle down hard on his head.
The man crumpled to the floor and out of his chair.
Esperanza quickly undressed him and put his clothes on herself.
Luckily she was tall for a woman, however his britches hung loosely around her small waist.  So she found some rope and tied it around to secure them like a belt.  Surprisingly his boots fit nicely on her feet.  A looking mirror in the corner showed her reflection.
"It'll do". She thought.
Spotting the man's purse and gun she weighed his coins in her hand, pleasantly surprised by its heft and pocketed it along with the loaded gun.  Without wasting any time she made her way out pulling the man's coat off his chair where it was left hanging.
As she walked quickly down the cobbled street, Esperanza rounded the corner sure of where she could find Gonzalo.  The normal sounds of wenches giggling and drunken men loudly talking filled her ear and she knew she was nearing the pub.  She pulled the cloak hood more securely over her head.
She would find Gonzalo and make him take her to her fathers body and then kill the bastard slowly.  The thought pleased her.
A low murmur of a conversation caught her attention just before she reached the pub. She followed the voices staying in the shadows.
"Put it all on the ship, and gather the men.  We leave at first light." Gonzalo said to his man.
"What about the woman?"
"She owes me a debt.  And I look forward to returning to collect.  Forcefully.  Perhaps when I'm done I will lend her to all of you."  Gonzalo answered and the two men laughed.
"Why, Henry Kirkland.  How very generous of you.  And what's this?"  The companion pointed at Gonzalo's neck.
Gonzalo laughed "A token from Captain Guerra.  Taken off of his severed neck."
"It is no wonder they call you "Blackheart"."  The man replied.
Esperanzas heart raced.  She couldn't believe what she was hearing.  The whole time her father had allowed the notorious English pirate "Blackheart" in their midst.  Tears fell down her face as she looked up at the sky praying to God for strength and vengeance.  Angrily she pulled the gun out and made ready to aim it straight the black heart Gonzalo was so revered for.
Hands suddenly wrapped around her body and covered her mouth, stopping her from further movement and she started to fight.
"C'est moi.  It is me Esperanza." a voice hissed in her ear.
She turned her head as much as the abductor would allow her and she stopped struggling.  She was released slowly.  Esperanza stood frozen staring.
