Oath Of Shadows | Chapter 5!

February 3rd 2001 (Afternoon)

I was sitting in the maid's headquarters, thinking of a plan to make his highness change his mind. However, I can't seem to come with anything and as I decided to pack my things—I'm glad I didn't pack a lot. I picked up the pink hairpin his highness gifted me on my first day here; 'Wow, maybe I should show him this to see if he'll reconsider hiring. It's worth a shot, right?' I mumbled.

I immediately ran back to Sunlight Palace, but accidentally bumped into Junghoon and I prepared myself to fall, but he held me. We both fell on top of each other and our lips touched, "Ahem! In broad daylight, show yourself a little self-respect," Donghyeon harshly said.

I quickly got off and dusting off my clothes, "I bumped into him, we're not doing anything," I replied. Donghyeon grabbed my wrist and pulled me to his chambers; he pushed me on the bed---and it being wooden, my butt went thud. It hurt a bit, but I have business to tell him; "So you and Junghoon are dating? Is that why he came to me, asking me to step down if I don't want to get hurt?" Donghyeon said.

'What the fudge? I don't have anything to do with that and besides, I'm not his enemy. Why can't he see that?' "You're such an idiot, your Highness. I'm on your side and if I wasn't then why would I freaking keep this still?" I said, showing him the hairpin.

He takes a seat next to me, "You still keep this? Why?" He asked. 'I don't know either, but it's a gift.'

"I appreciate you for helping on my first day and I got self-confident because you know your step-sisters weren't so nice to me and tried everything to make me quit. You didn't give up on me, so this is my serotonin," I replied.

He didn't utter a word and pulled me into a tight hug, then, I heard soft sniffles coming from him---- 'Is he touched by my words? Is he going to rehire me?' so many thoughts going through my mind at the same time. Donghyeon pulls away from the hug and locked eyes for what feels like three hours----my heart is pounding crazily.

'Fathiyah, you can't fall for him! You're not from his world.' I tried to convince myself, but he grabbed the hairpin from me and told me to turn around. Donghyeon styled my hair in a bun, then gently placed the pin---- "You look beautiful," he said.

"Your highness, thank you," I replied, trying my best to hide the fact I was a blushing mess.

"No, I should thank you because I realize you're the only one on my side. Maybe I should reconsider letting you join me at the office and during my royal duties," Donghyeon utters.

"Does that mean I'm rehired?" I asked.

"Yes, Fathiyah. I'd be a fool if I let you go, now please don't take any of my words to heart. Also, I need to do something," he replied.

I was confused because he smirked, 'don't tell me he's jealous about the fact that Junghoon and I accidentally kissed?' "Your highness, I told you the kiss between Junghoon and I was accidental, and definitely won't happen again," I said.

"I don't care, just the thought of him kissing the girl I like. It makes me uncomfortable," Donghyeon replied.

I honestly didn't know what to say, 'His highness likes me? Prince Kim Donghyeon likes me.' I don't know why I'm so happy that he likes me, I mean I love Jianhong, so I shouldn't get my hopes too much----I'm here to save, then I'll be back in 2024.

'Yes, Fathiyah, don't fall too far!' Then, I felt his highness's soft lips on mine, I couldn't ignore them and close my eyes unknowingly. The kiss is sweet, passionate, but ever so gentle; 'It's my first time being this close with a guy or even going as far as kissing them.' My mom is going to kill me if she finds out, but this isn't real, right?' However, it feels so real and everything is happening so fast, our connection is incredible.
