eight ─ another promise

Soon Teddy, Dustin and Erica found themselves in a room filled with some kind of green liquid which they'd found earlier in the elevator. Teddy couldn't help but wonder why was this kind of harmful liquid be manufactured in Hawkins in first place? The last time she was there in Hawkins, it was a peaceful place to visit except for some petty crimes. Not like invasion of inter-dimensional species, Russians, etc.

Why was this place changed?

Was Hawkins always like this?

Or was it just now?

So many questions were running in her mind, but those were interrupted by Dustin exclaiming. Teddy looked to see mini car. Her eyes brightened as she saw Dustin getting in the driver's seat.

"Do you even know how to drive?" Erica asked.

"How hard could it be? Max did it,"

"No, kid. I'm not allowing you to drive if that's the case," Teddy said as she watched Dustin's shoulder slouch.

"What?"

"You heard me. So, get down and search for the keys," Teddy said, waiting for Dustin to get down. Dustin searched for the key within the car but he got nothing. Teddy smirked as she saw Dustin getting out of the car grumpily.

"Come on, search, kid," Teddy said as she got inside the car and was searching for the key in it by crouching down.

"Hey, Dustin?" Erica called, looking at the cage ahead of them.

"Yeah?"

"How big did you say that demogorgan was?"

"Big, nine feet or so. Why? Yes! I got the keys!" Dustin exclaimed.

"That's great, dude! Erica, Dustin, get insi--- wait, where's Erica?" Teddy said as she frowned. She immediately got out of the car and walked to Dustin who looked traumatised.

"Dustin, where is Erica?" She asked, placing her hands on his shoulder.

"I--I swear she was here! Erica?! Erica?--- Jesus christ, there you are!" The duo sighed in relief as they saw Erica walking towards them with an electric gun like weapon.

"What are you doing with that?" Teddy asked, crossing her arms.

"A deadly weapon," Erica said as she pressed a button which made the weapon to send electric shock but the duo thanked God that they weren't near her. "Could be useful. For saving them,"

"Thought that you were more realistic than that, nerd," Dustin said as Erica rolled her eyes. " We don't even know where they are . And even if we did, there are million guards up there with weapons way deadlier than that," Erica quietly sat on the seat, followed by Dustin who passed Teddy the keys as she sat in the middle.

"The best we can do for them is to get out of here and find help," Dustin said.

"But, do you really think that we would be able to go out of this place? Dude, you make it sound easy. But, it's not that easy," Teddy said, worriedly.

"But, it's not impossible, right? " Dustin said, raising an eyebrow. "Trust me, please," he said, looking at both the ladies who eventually shrugged and nodded her head. Though Teddy's thoughts constantly drifted to Steve and Robin, she agreed with the kid.
