You belong with me

My heels clicked against the tile floor of the bathroom while I paced back and forth. I had excused myself to the bathroom to regain my composure that had been slipping away gradually. At first I thought it was all in my head. The glances and how his eyes dropped from my face to my chest as he spoke to me. How he eyed the waitress as well and how he didn't seem to listen. It wasn't until our food was placed on the table that I knew it wasn't in my head after all. I felt it, his hand under the table, on my knee. I jerked my knee back hitting the table. "I'm sorry" I apologized for the sudden attention that was brought to us from surrounding tables.

"Silly girl" he laughed, his hand found my other knee and squeezed. I felt sick, any appetite I had now gone.

"Will you excuse me, I need to use the ladies room" I quickly spoke before exiting the table hastily.

I really only have one choice it seems. I have to muster all the confidence in me and stride back into the restaurant and out the front door as if was nothing wrong. I took a few deep breaths before letting the last one out slowly. I rolled my shoulders back and down before lifting my chin and pushing the door open. Click, click, click, click, I heard my heels against the floor as I exited the bathroom. I didn't dare look back at the dining area as I pushed the front door open and out onto the streets of downtown. Fuck what do I do now. I have to keep walking, I pulled out my phone and shoot Ryan a text.

"Come save me bitch" I hit send. And stowed the phone back in my bag. Maybe in the mean time I could find something to eat, maybe I'll go shopping. One block, two block, three blocks later I pulled my phone out to check to see if Ryan texted back. Delivered. Great. I was still walking this whole time I was looking at my phone, I guess that's how I ran into the wall and fell on my ass. Only it wasn't a wall. The wall or oh yeah human I ran into turned around. And looked down to find me on the concrete.

"Oh my gosh are you okay?" The voice was familiar but it took a second to clock their face. Noah. Oh fuck. Brown eyes stared down at me with an extended hand.  I took his offered hand quickly and stood up and began dusting myself off.

"Yeah, I'm fine, sorry about that I wasn't looking. I was waiting for Ryan to text me back" I explained. As I looked around nervously, hoping her car would magically appear to save me.

"Well you look, amazing. What's got you dressed up?" The brown eyed man inquired.

"Uh, bad date." I answered shortly. This couldn't get more embarrassing.

"Bad enough it's over by 6:45?" He asked with a laugh.

"Yeah" I laughed with it. "It was awful."

"Well I was just hanging out with some friends, if you want I can get you home." He offered with a gesture to the group of guys behind him, I recognized one or two of them.

"No, no you don't have to do that, no need for your evening to be ruined too" I dismissed his offer.

"What? It's no trouble, in fact I insist." Noah turned from me to his friends before speaking again. "Hey guys I'm calling it a night, gonna chauffeur a pretty lady to her castle." He announced causing my cheeks to flush. Cheers and witty remarks were made about taking me home as Noah turned back to me and began walking away. I was quick to follow the tall man.

"You really don't have to, I can get an Uber, it's no big deal," I offered.

"Or I can make sure you get home without getting kidnapped, it's no big deal" he countered as he moved to my other side standing between me and the road.

"Thank you" I conceded. We walked in silence for a few minutes in what I'm assuming is the direction of his car. The silence was comfortable and light, that was until my stomach ruined it with a large growl.
