*Katrina's pov*
"Shhh, she's coming to. The drug must have finally worn off."
I started to stir in my spot before stretching like a cat. My muscles lossened and my joints popped at the action. I wasn't pissed off anymore. Instead, i was confused and sluggish. I scanned my surroundings. Where am I? Oh, that right...i made it to the research facility. The room I was in wasn't very large, but it wasn't small either. In it was a bed mattress on the floor, I'll make that into a proper nest later. A few perches littered the walls. It wasn't much, but I guess it was enough for me to do something other than stare at the wall.
Just as I went to jump onto a perch, I heard a tap on the glass of the cell. The noise caused me to glance in its direction before I huffed. Ignoring it, I jumped up onto one of the perches anyway. I sat down comfortably as I glared at the door. Two people in white lab coats stood on either side of the door in front of the glass. One was tapping on the glass while the other was writing things down on a clipboard. Must be taking notes on what I was doing. The tapping and scratching of the pen on the paper became slightly annoying to me, so I jumped down and slowly approached the window with a small, annoyed growl.
At first, i tried to show them the annoyance they were putting me through. I banged on the thick glass, keeping me contained before growling loudly. I struggled to form the words i wanted to say. At first, only a string of growls and snarls followed by coughing and choking noises. "C-can you stop that? It's annoying. " My voice cracked and sounded hoarse like i needed a drink. I was glad i was able to speak, but it was difficult speaking with the muzzle still strapped to my face. The man stopped writing and dropped the pen out of surprise. The woman stepped away from the glass with a small startled squeak.
"Before you ask, yes, I can speak. I came here on my own free will, and if that bastard gets close to me again, I will break free and kill him along with anyone who tries to stop me." I glared at the 2 scientists. I could see the thoughts running through their minds. They were scared, elated, and curious. They both looked at me before looking at each other with wide, excited eyes. The man quickly wrote down what happened in their notes. Seconds later, they came to a silent agreement. On what? I don't know. The man pulled a radio out and started to speak into it.
Paying him no mind, I turned to jump back onto another perch. Only to miscalculate the distance and slip off the perch completely. Damn, this is a lot more confusing than it seems. I pushed away my jumbled thoughts as i managed to climb up to the perch instead. I'm glad to have the noises stop for now. I laid down up there to get comfy. My eyes scan the surrounding area again. This time on the outside of my cell. It looked like there were other cells containing more special infections. Surprised, I jumped to another perch to see what others there were. One cell contained smokers. Another one was filled with the commons. The others were filled with boomers, and what i assumed were spitters, jockeys, and chargers. The cells that surprised me the most had to be the witches and one containing a single tank. How did they manage to capture them? Curious, I jumped and clung to the glass wall, trying to see more of the hallway.
My attention was brought to the cell right crossed from mine. Startled, i let go of the wall and jumped to the closest perch, letting out a small yelp in the process. One of the hunters from before was staring directly at me. He looked to be the smallest one in the group. He had watchful pale blue eyes peeking out from under his hood along with messy blond hair. My head tilted to the side curiously, the other hunter mimicking my actions as I took notice of what he was wearing. He was wearing a black hoodie with royal blue tape around his elbows, wrists, and knees. Black acid washed jeans and a pair of ripped black and white Converse shoes on his feet. The hunter peeked my interest as the others in his group slowly started to come out of the shadows. They all looked to be well taken care of, healthy and clean.
