Sapphire's Journey

The Search For A New Partner!

The Next Morning, Sapphire would be up early, preparing a schedule for the day. Brionne and her other partners were out of their Pokéballs, playing together in the room, being careful not to break anything. "Okay everyone, I've been doing some thinking. From what I've heard the first trial on Akala Island is the Water Trial. And while I'm confident we could win with just us four, I think it's best we Scout for a new Partner." Sapphire says as she looks up at her Pokémon, who were nodding in agreement.

Sapphire would smile, making note in her journal to keep an eye out for potential new Team Members. Eventually she would recall her team and got changed into one of the new outfits she bought the day before, heading down to the lobby once she finished. Kukui was nowhere to be seen, however Guzma was sitting on one of the lobby couches, seemingly waiting for her.

"Yo Sapphire! It's 'bout time you came down from your room. Kukui got bored of waitin and went on ahead." Guzma says, a teasing smirk plastered on his face. "Oh Ha Ha, You're so funny. For your information I was working on my schedule for the day. Which you might benefit from if you made one for yourself." Sapphire says with a laugh, making Guzma shrug.

"Nah. Too much work to try an write all that out. Would probably take me longer than it takes you." Guzma admits as he stands up, him and Sapphire soon heading outside. Once outside Sapphire would let Ribombee out of her Pokéball so she could see Guzma. Ribombee would instantly fly over to Guzma who would smile at the little bee.

The entire rest of the day would consist of Sapphire walking around and visiting some shops and tourist sites while Guzma just tagged along. Sapphire didn't mind though, she enjoyed Guzma's company quite a bit, he made things seem less boring. Besides, Little Ribombee enjoyed him being there as well, since he was the one to Protect her from the flock of Pikipek back on Mele' Mele Island.

As night began to fall the Two would set up a small camp on route 5, just outside Brooklet Hill. "Man.. I can't believe my search for a new team member ended in failure.." Sapphire says with a sigh, her head resting against her knees. Guzma gave her a small encouraging smile, "Hey, ya always got tomorrow Sapphy, maybe your luck will turn around." He says with a shrug.

Sapphire would sit there for a moment, trying to process what he just called her. "S-Sapphy?" She questioned him, a small smirk on her face. "Yeah Sapphy, what? Do ya not like the nickname? Cuz to bad for you but it's stayin." Guzma says, making Sapphire laugh. "No, No, I like it, you calling me that just caught me off guard is all." She admits once her laughing fit calms down, making Guzma smile.

However some rustling bushes soon caught their attention as they both turned towards the noise. A small mushroom looking Pokémon would soon emerge from the bushes, making Guzma pull out his Pokédex. "Morelull, The Illuminating Pokémon, A Grass and Fairy Type. As it drowses the day away, it nourishes itself by sucking from tree roots. It wakens at the fall of night, wandering off in search of a new tree." The Pokédex spoke, making Guzma gently elbow Sapphire.

"I think we just found ya a new team member." He states, making Sapphire smile before slowly grabbing her bag. She would quickly but quietly search through it, soon finding a Dusk Ball she had bought just earlier. Sapphire turned to watch the Morelull for a moment, waiting for it to turn its back before throwing the Dusk Ball, hitting it square in its back.

Sapphire would give out a small squeal as she hugged Guzma, who was rather surprised at the sudden show of friendly affection. Though she quickly let go before getting up and going to collect the ball on the ground. After doing so she returned to Guzma's side and let Morelull out of his ball. Morelull then looked around before finding a comfy spot on some nearby tree roots to sleep for the night.

Guzma and Sapphire decided to follow his lead and get some sleep themselves, each heading to their own sleeping bags. Not too much later and the two were fast asleep, getting rest for what awaited them tomorrow afternoon.
