Will POV:

Will's alarm blared, and he sat up groggily. He didn't particularly like the night shift, but he'd volunteered because he knew his siblings hated it just as much. And he wanted to make sure a certain son of Hades didn't try to escape.

As Will got up to go to the infirmary, he saw that the flowers in his vase had wilted. That was strange, they'd been thriving earlier. Wait...didn't that usually happen around Nico?

"Ugh, I told him not to use his powers," Will muttered under his breath. And the fact that Nico's power reached all the way to the Apollo cabin must have meant that he'd left.

Before Will went to find Nico, he decided to check on the other patients, since it was his shift after all.

As he walked, he noticed that things were even more wilted the closer he got to the infirmary. Perhaps the son of Hades felt guilty about leaving and came back. Will was still going to make him pay for ditching treatment though. But when he arrived at Nico's room, he abandoned all thought of his creative punishments.

The son of Hades was thrashing in his bed, everything around him dying and rotting. Will tried to wake him up, but his hands passed right through him.
