So, not only do I work for Enzo's sister, but he so happens to be a frequent visitor. Which is expected because it's his sister but god damn it. Did I mention that I also agreed to be his friend? Banging my head into a wall sounds like a really smart option right now.

On the other hand, I love the job. It's calming, it keeps me busy, and there's a cafe built inside. So, I don't even have to leave the building to get a drink. Rayne has been training me a lot and she is way more laidback than I'd expect. There's no awkwardness since she has no problem starting up or keeping the conversation. Which I liked. I'm awkward when it comes to talking to new people, but she made it easy.

Maia is a pretty straightforward person as well. She's strict at some moments but also has no problem being laid back with the rest of us. I thought my nerves would be through the roof when I first got interviewed and met her, but her entire demeanor made those nerves vanish. It was pretty shocking honestly.

After that, it was a piece of cake. The other workers are nice, Rayne is a delight, and I get a discount on coffee since I work in the building. A win is a win.

Jesse's been asking me a thousand questions a minute since I've got the job and it made my head spin when we were on the phone. He was always the talkative best friend, but Jesus christ. Half of his questions were just to get on my nerves. He's so lucky I can't strangle him through a phone.

I had about an hour before heading to work, so I stayed on the phone with Jesse, who kept me company while I made breakfast. It was still early (thank god), which means Aiden is at school and the other two are out and about away from me. And that gave me one of the many things I love most.

Complete and utter silence.

After buttering my toast, I placed bacon, eggs, and sausage between the two slices then smashed it down  to my liking. When Jesse gave me a thumbs up, I nodded with a grin before hopping on the counter and biting into the sandwich. A satisfied groan rumbled in my throat and my head tipped back, allowing all the flavors to marinate on my tongue.

"You're making me hungry, woman," Jesse complained before he stood up in front of the camera.

"You have a perfectly working kitchen in your house," I chuckle, taking another bite and looking at my screen.

"That doesn't mean I want to cook."

And in regular Jesse fashion, he still cooked his own breakfast while grumbling under his breath about not wanting to. Shaking my head, I carried my phone to the bathroom after I finished my sandwich. I quickly brushed my teeth for a second time and gargled some mouthwash, spitting it out not too long after.

I did a quick check around the house before I went out to my car, setting my phone in the cup holder to where he could still see me.

"Those messy bun looks are working for you," Jesse complimented with his mouth full.

"Thanks, Jesse," I chuckled, glancing at the screen. "It feels better than having hair on my neck while I'm moving around."

"Well, duh. You're always moving like the flash when you work. I'm surprised your hair stays up."

"So am I, so let's not jinx it, please."

He mocked me and went back to eating. I assumed he started watching tv since he got silent and the background noises got louder. Morning ritual going strong as always.

A caramel iced latte sounds amazing right now. I didn't feel like making my own, nor was I in the mood for hot coffee today. It's just something about iced coffee that soothes all of my future worries and stress of the day. Not like I'm stressed or worried now, but the way life has been going so far, there's no telling what will happen.
