How Did She Know??

Tuesday,29th November 2023
My birthday and a heart attack

For the first time in my life, I received more than 50 wishes on my birthday. Thanks to Instagram, my juniors, schoolmates, and all the synergies.

The first ones were Hritika and Kshyapi, whose texts I saw when I woke up at 4 as usual.

Happy Birthday (celebration emojis)

God bless you

Was Hritika's message. It was a surprise that she remembered it. But after all, it was generous of her. The sweetest member of F.R.I.E.N.D.S as I always called her.

At 8 I installed Instagram. And got around 2 mentions, from Atharva, Rohan. On Snapchat, I got wishes from Team Snapchat of course, and from my juniors.

After taking a bath I put on my synergy t-shirt and had another look at Instagram. By then the birthday twins of Batch 1, Shravani and Aditya had wished each other posting stories and when they got to know I was the third one, they told me not to go without a picture.

When I was sitting on the bus I received another wish. This was from Liza.

            "Happy bday (a red heart)"

I didn't see this coming. But it was kind.

Opening the door of our classroom, they all got up to wish me and it only increased my smile a thousand times.

By then the spectacled girl had seen the photo of her favorite chocolate I sent her.

Happy b'day (a single bday capped emoji)

It was all I could get for the chocolate.

"I remember your choice.', tagging the photo of the chocolate, I continued.

"Good good. But bday Tera hai.", she never understood why I sent her a photo of her chocolate on my bday. And she failed to understand this as well that it's the birthday boy who always gives chocolate to everyone.

"So what..miss?..", I replied quickly.

"Miss kyu bol rha hai??..(a laughing emoji)

"Toh kya Mrs bolu?", I was slowly coming back to my Vishwajyot form.

"Nahi kuch mat bol..", she always spoke like that. 'Cut to cut baat karna'.

While this was going on, I hardly realized that our faculty, Skm sir had arrived in the classroom and even saw me using WhatsApp. Maybe he even saw with whom I was chatting and I quickly switched off my phone and kept it in my bag. I was extremely embarrassed but he always had that nature to make one feel comfortable in the class.

"Bhai aaj kal WhatsApp kon use karta hai?", he asked, continuing that it's the era of Instagram and Snapchat and I was still using WhatsApp to text people.

Our only math lecture ended at 12. I was asked by Satish sir to keep the projector in the neighboring class for the next lecture he would have there.

Batch 1

The elite batch

Opening the door, I found the classroom as it was always, nothing less than a 5-star restaurant. Cut out the food, but look at the way they sat in groups. Some of the elite toppers at the front including Aditya Ishaq, Aarushi, Ishika, and many more, the backbenchers had Amit as their leader, the emperor of talking as I always called him. At the left mid corner was Parth with his new friends and on the mid benches of first and second row were those 4 girls who always stayed together.

The chocolate brown curtain and the yellow ceiling lights gave it an amazing look.

Just add some background music to it, and u will feel like you have entered a high-rated restaurant.

Lost in my thoughts, I entered and carefully walked through the best way to reach the whiteboard, which was between the first and second row where those 4 girls were sitting on four different benches forming the vertices of a rectangle.

The 4 of them were gossiping and discussing something. And as I was heading towards their zone, Shreya J (B1) looked at me and wished,

"Happy Birthday"

"Oh(in my mind)...." I never saw that coming. My heart skipped a beat there. And I could feel it badly. I immediately moved a step back and thanked them.

"...Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you very much.", I thanked them thrice as the other three also wished to follow her.

"Are ise kaise ..wait how did she...?", was my honest reaction to it. I still remember the fact that she had not followed me back on Instagram even after accepting my follow request.

"Bade log hai ye.", my mind chanted that often.

Maybe she might have seen it in Atharva's story.

It was sweet of her that I could barely lift my head to look at the four of them. Lost in my thoughts and entering their rectangle, she almost gave me a heart attack. And the worst part was that I blushed so much upon hearing that I could not even lift my head while thanking her.

"Kindness costs nothing." was the line I found on A3 notebooks. Why would she even care if it's my birthday? But still, if she wished me, it was kind of her. And I took back my words of her having some attitude and not accepting only my request.

"Are are bro come here also.", while leaving the class I was called by Amit and his gang and they too wished me after pulling my leg.

"Ha Bhai you took wishes from girls only.", he taunted.

"Are yaar I had gone there only to keep the projector and then they wished me.", I was the one explaining as always.

I took a picture with Adi and Shravani and left Camden. Walking on the footpath I could see that she had replied.
