**Logan POV**
I reached the location mentioned in the flier, only to be stunned by the enormity of the snake nest, covering an area equivalent to two baseball fields.
I carefully approached, grabbing an unlit torch nearby. My thoughts raced to escape any danger, focusing on lighting the torch.
Attempting to light it, I found the dampness and dryness challenging. In my search for a solution, I spotted a glint in the farthest corner-a broken steel sword.
Picking it up, an idea formed. I discovered the remaining piece lying against the nest's wall and tested its fit. It matched perfectly, but my elation was cut short as the snake, the nest's owner, attacked.
**Third Person POV**
Logan dodged the snake's swift attack, exploiting its large body's slow movements.
He retaliated, successfully stabbing the broken sword into the snake, provoking a screech.
Covering his ears, Logan lost his grip on the weapon. As the screech subsided, the snake tail-whipped him again, sending him airborne.
**Cough**
Coughing blood, Logan found himself in the snake's open mouth.
Quick thinking saved him-he used the unlit torch to block the snake's attempt to swallow him.
"What's the matter, big guy? Can't swallow?"
he taunted, climbing out of the snake's mouth, whilst sliding down its slick scales, he aimed for the still-stabbed broken sword, catching it and dangling from the snake's side.
Gathering strength, Logan pulled down and sliced the snake's exposed, weakened area-the same spot as the broken sword stab.
With a final blow, he declared.
"Not so strong now, you monster!"
The broken sword cleaved through the soft spot, causing the snake to screech and fall to the ground, bleeding excessively.
Logan emerged victorious.
**Logan POV**
I won? I won! Despite the pain from being flailed around by the snake, I managed to kill it.
I approached the dead snake, contemplating what to bring as proof of my success. Noticing a broken-off scale and a fang, I decided to take both.
Using the provided bag, I collected the items and placed the broken sword I used on the wall near the nest's entrance for future adventurers.
Exiting the nest with the bag on my shoulder, I walked back to the city and headed towards the guild to report my success. Inside Luide til eventyrere, I approached the counter, surprising the receptionist.
Despite his attempt at a neutral expression, a slight smile escaped. Handing over the bag without a word, he checked its contents- the snake's broken tooth and a chipped-off scale.
Confirming my success, he stamped the flier, returned the bag along with the reward mentioned in the flier: 10 steel coins.
Puzzled about keeping the bag, I asked the receptionist,
"Hey, why do I still have the bag?"
He replied sternly,
"The quest didn't have any instructions about giving the materials to the quest giver, meaning you can keep what you gathered."
Nodding in understanding, I left the building and returned to the inn, contemplating what to do with my newfound items.
I hope that my future adventures are easier than this one..
