Logan's pov
Every ten years after the heroes defeated the demon lord, Caritire created a festival celebrating the defeat of the demon lord and their army.
It occurs every ten years, every 5th month. In a way, it's a big one, and it's called the Ethereal Assembly. For five months, I have been living in Caritire ever since I arrived here.
Nevertheless, my adventurer rank is now B-rank, and I was called the rising genius because of it.
All I did was just do a quest every day, ranging from C and B ranks, since I was D-rank. I learned some new skills, one of them is how to fight properly.
Speaking of fighting, I'm currently dodging an attack from a Hammewocky, a monster that uses a hammer made of a tree, comparable to a treant.
I dodge another swipe from the Hammewocky, once the monster was caught in the momentum, I readied my war axe and jumped using the tree to gain height, about two buildings worth before...
**SWISH**
I swung my war axe and cut the Hammewocky in half.
Once I was done, I gathered some materials from the Hammewocky and went back to Caritire.
The air is filled with the aroma of food; it looks like the Ethereal Assembly is being planned. It will happen tonight. You know what?
Let's drop the materials at Luide Til Eventyrere and help the locals. After all, this has become my home for 5 months.
Ever since then, I've become accustomed to the traditions here.
Once I showed the materials to the receptionist and he stamped the flier 'completed,' he smiled and said, "So you're helping the locals prepare for the Ethereal Assembly. Alright then! Everyone! Free drinks at Denfeld Bar! All on me!"
He shouted with enthusiasm, which made everyone in the guild shout. I just noticed that the first month I registered to become an adventurer, everyone is dead silent when the receptionist talks.
But now, it looks like everyone had a change of heart in these 5 months. I suddenly felt a pat on my shoulder. It was the receptionist.
He smiled as he said, "You're no longer a newbie, kid. You're one of us now. Allow me to welcome you properly. Welcome!"
He smiled. The only time he smiled was a menacing one, but this one was genuine. I smiled, feeling like I was actually part of this world.
Bidding my goodbyes to the guild, I exited the building and helped the locals prepare for the Ethereal Assembly. I heard that someone important will have a speech.
Who is that someone? Must be the head of Caritire,I don't know! The only thing I care about is helping the locals. Let's get to it!
There were odd jobs here and there, but overall, I think I helped quite a lot of locals.
It was time for the Ethereal Assembly. It was grand, nighttime, every nook and cranny of the city lit up in a beautiful way, lanterns dancing around in the skies, some placed on buildings.
People, old and young, were walking around in a Victorian-era-like style with added cloth.
Everyone and everything were vibrant. Of course, I had to dress up properly too!
I wore a finely tailored robe with a line that ends with an arrow. That was just the robe; underneath, I had my signature adventurer's clothes. The robe wasn't full; it was more like a cape with extra design.
I got it from Saena. She said she bought it for her brother, but he didn't accept it, so here we are. She gave me the cloak.
But more importantly, everyone was going to the fourth terrace where the statue of Andre is.
Looks like the speech is there.
Then I heard the head of Caritire.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we will now pick who will be chosen to go to Icathos as the new student of Académie des Chercheurs de Vérité!"
I listened carefully. Académie des Chercheurs de Vérité in Icathos is accepting students? No matter, let's just hope I don't jinx my-
"You there, adventurer, you have been chosen!"
The head of Caritire said cheerfully. Everyone then looked at me, and I sweatdropped.
I just jinxed myself.....
I asked the head of Caritire City,
"Reaching Icathos city is by dreaming, right?"
He merely laughed and answered, "Yes, you can, but it's much more intricate than just outright going there via teleportation."
" Yes, you can travel to Icathos by dreaming, but I'll handle the teleportation system!" The head said, to which I nervously chuckled.
I got to the podium, and the head of Caritire City drew a pentagram on the ground. I guess this is how you transport to Icathos-
I heard a good luck from the city head before I was engulfed with a bright light. Well, it's time to go to Icathos.
I opened my eyes. I was not in Caritire anymore. I was in what looked like Icathos....
Non-Euclidean-like buildings, people flying and levitating-the path was dreamy, a mix of gold and silver adorned the streets, even the trees looked funny, all of them twisting and turning.
Then I saw I wasn't the only one here. There were also a bunch of people who may have been transported here. All of them looked happy, but I noticed someone.
She closed her book and approached in front before saying, "Welcome to Icathos!"
"Nice to meet you all, new students! Welcome to Icathos city, not as tourists but as students of Académie des Chercheurs de Vérité!"
Ah, she is fairly tall, at least 6'3. The complexion of her skin is fair, with bright blue eyes. Her clothing is much as expected, suitable for teaching.
You get the gist of it; she might be a teacher. She gestured for everyone to follow her, and we followed her to what seemed like a castle-like structure, but it's a school?
What the... And then she said something.
"Welcome to Académie des Chercheurs de Vérité. Here, all of you will learn magic. You are all lucky to be chosen during your own respective festivals!"
She gleefully said.....
No way... I'M IN A MAGIC ACADEMY NOW WITH THESE PEOPLE!
