Third person pov

The lady started talking from the podium, and Logan listened carefully to the speech.

"My name is Alia, the headmaster of Académie des Chercheurs de Vérité. As far as Icathos has been in this world, the academy has been accepting capable individuals - human, non-human, rich, poor."

"The academy treats each student with equality. In this academy, we stand on equal grounds with one goal: to let all of you see the wonderful things magic can do. Good luck, new students."

The speech was just a normal one, but the new students couldn't help but cheer. Logan listened carefully. If this was like a normal academy in his world, then he would go all out now. He listed down each direction of all the classes.

There was an evaluation exam to determine where the new students would be placed. They had the same system - the one with the highest potential would go to the Phoenix rank class, and the lowest-scoring students would be placed in the Eagle class.

For now, Logan thought of going for the middle - the Giant class. It was his goal to get there.

Without further ado, Logan walked over to the evaluation site.

Logan's pov

I'm here at the evaluation site, and it's huge - 5 soccer fields worth of space, a considerable gap between the floor and roof, probably for training and sparring.

But let's focus on the evaluation part, one of the teachers gave me a card with the number '253,' likely an identification number for the process. Anyways.

Let's be serious about this and aim for the middle class of the academy.

After a few more minutes of waiting, I heard someone call my number.

"Number 253! Please enter for evaluation."

I replied, "Okay."

Here I am, standing parallel to a ghost-like monster.

Someone from the stands explained, "You'll be tested on how you use your magic! A brief explanation is that magic is up to your imagination!"

I nodded before readying myself. It's time to use all the knowledge I gained about magic.

I pointed one finger at the spectral-like monster, focused, and closed my eyes. I heard the shuffling of the monster's feet - it was time.

I envisioned a mini-ray beam shooting through my pointing finger. The moment I opened my eyes, a bright light emitted from my finger, surprising me.

I accidentally let go of the beam, and it hit the spectral monster before it disappeared. What just happened?

I heard applause from the stands. It looked like I passed.

I turned to the stands containing the academy staff before leaving the building to wait for the results.

**A few more days later**

My time in Icathos has been good so far. This is the last day of waiting for the results. All new students of the academy get an all-free pass on everything until they receive their class assignments.
