Graduation happened last month but it felt like the event just happened yesterday. The first female student of Night Raven College officially graduated with flying colors—well not as vibrant and sparkling with medals as her gifted classmates but passing through each semester despite everything was already an achievement.
"Can you believe it, Grim? We are no longer students, we are finally free to choose the career we want to do or the life we want to create!" Mary declared brimming with excitement, holding her pink flats in one hand whilst she walked barefooted on the grass.
Her companion, Grim, the first creature she met back in her freshman days remained consistent with his bluntness. "Yes we are but you're still as naive and gullible, Mary" He didn't bother hiding a bit of annoyance, palming his face next to her.
The former Ramshackle Dorm residents were taking a morning stroll in the Moors—the grass here weren't prickly and there were no harmful sharp objects that could possibly hurt their feet so Mary would usually walk in barefoot as she enjoyed the feeling of the soft brushing underneath.
Mary pouted cutely, "Really now? You're still mean to me"
"I'm only stating facts" Grim countered, no longer that upset. "Yesterday you tried applying for a job without reading through their posters which didn't end in our favor, that was embarrassing, you shouldn't share it with your dad" It was really awkward and he wasn't sure if Mary even picked up the atmosphere yesterday but he presumed she hadn't. The redhead became too divulged in landing a job quickly she dived in head first without thinking or reading so when she was interviewed, Grim was forced to watch the most cringe crap ever.
They stopped by the waterfalls where tiny fairies and brownies were hanging out, Mary sat down a moss-covered rock, making sure her mint green dress wasn't wrinkled or wet by the water.
She sighed, her shoulders drooping. "You are right...I should have thought first what I want to do after graduating" Divus Crewel, her adopted father asked her about this around the third year 2nd semester—he provided the redhead some brief information about the careers NRC students usually venture to after graduation but none of what he discussed were to Mary's preference. For one, she wasn't even a magic wielder so she couldn't have a job that involved casting spells.
Grim sat next to her and dipped his legs in the clear water stream, "Look, Mary, I don't think you need to rush yourself. Take this month as a time for you to think thoroughly and if necessary, talk to your dad about it; you don't look like you're financially unstable given his extravagant job so I'm sure he is not forcing you to have a job right now"
Moors was alleviating and soundless, the sounds from the rushing stream, waterfalls, and nature were what mainly floated in the air here. The towering thorn walls which remained solid outside kept the unnecessary noises, gossip, and pressures at bay. Mary would regularly go here whenever she needed a break or a simple stroll.
It also helped her think clearly.
What she really wanted to do after graduation... Her emerald green eyes observed the tiny creatures roaming around and having fun in the water. Then she caught sight of a castle peeking from afar—her parents' home, she had gone there before and found it empty.
Her lips subtly pressed into a thin line, 'I want to bring Moors back to its most vibrant state and let this world know about us, to fix the severed bridge and repair the connection it lost in time.'

"We are officially open for business! Heck yes!" Ace Trappola threw a fist excitedly in the air while next to him Deuce wasn't as visibly overreacting but he was smiling and had that satisfied expression plastered on his face.
