The shards of glass pierced through his skin, it made him groan in pain and triggered a sealed part within to almost unlock. Grim's electric blue eyes widened and through the smoke caused by the explosion, those orbs almost glowed and melted to crimson. He couldn't lose control now, it would make things worse. He needed to endure this.

Grim sprawled on the floor, paw outstretched forward. Shards sticking out from his back. "Mary...save yourself"

The flower fairy they housed for a few days flew over and Grim watched motionless how the tiny creature used the remainder of its magic to shield Mary from the projectiles and took a blow which no doubt ended its life.

...

His eyes were back to its electrifying blue and he got up, wincing at the soreness of this body he was forced into. If only he was in his true form, things wouldn't have ended horribly.

"Huh? What the hell–where am I?" Grim squinted and roamed his gaze around–a hollow, circular room with brown brick walls and lit torches. There are two windows on each side but appear too small for him to use as an escape.

He was placed on top of a huge circle-shaped stone table, and both of his paws were shackled with chains attached to the wall.

The circle under him would have a flicker, a familiar circle with symbols that Grim knew by heart. How did they have access to and knowledge of this circle? Of course, he knew what it was, Dalim Tweedle used it on him on many occasions when he wanted to restrict Grim's magic.

The doors in front pushed open, making a creaking sound that echoed inside. Elbert Greetia came forward, his expression was cold and sullen in contrast to the burst of indignation in Grim's.

"You will remain here for an indefinite period, beast," Elbert stated nonchalantly. "Any attempts to resist us or escape will be equal to a punishment."

Grim moved his paws, the tight shackles gripped his wrists but also prevented the flow of fire from coming out. "Screw yourself, I'm not listening to this rubbish. First, you barged in on our friends' place and now you abducted me" He seethed furiously, "Last time I was picked off the ground and treated like a dumb animal I set their entire rears on fire!"

Only a blink from Elbert's side, his handsome face remained undisturbed. "Your friend is alive, both of you are secured within our headquarters. By far you two are the most interesting specimens we found in this world and we want to take it further on how you can cast magic without relying on stones, crystals, or artifacts" He gazed down briefly at the small crystals lining the stone table. "Your magic might even be more superior than Cradle's" His last statement was lower and murmured. "However, personally speaking, my interest is not in you"

"The heck do I care whether you do or not?!" It was irksome and his anger was fueled because of worry for his ward, Grim didn't miss the gaze Elbert gave Mary when they found him in Riddle's agency office. This bastard is definitely up to something not good.

Merlin or Oberon, whoever is powerful being worshiped in this world, please make sure Mary stays safe and in hiding.

Hm? This was the witness?

Amusing. She seemed to crumble slowly at the weight of unseen pressure and intimidation from this mansion; her subtle shaking and attempt to be composed were humorous. Viktor wondered how she would die, perhaps out of sheer terror or a mere touch would be enough to break all her bones completely. Did she even have a backbone? This mental question got him smiling and he suppressed the urge to laugh loudly at his inner joke. A backbone indeed–physically and metaphorically speaking.
