Part 2 for SadieJames123
It had been a few weeks since Bryce had left his game to be pampered and "cured" by me. I had been doing a pretty good job, making him take his medicine, eat and sleep. But not good enough. I was no doctor. I had no fucking clue how to cure my boyfriend! So I had called one in, much to Bryce's protest. "You need to get better. You've only gotten worse." I pointed out strictly. Bryce groaned and I patted his burning head with a cold cloth. "But I hate doctors! What they have to pull my kidney out, or something?" he sighed. I laughed, laying the cloth against his head. "I doubt their going to pull your kidney out. Anyways, I want you to at least play one more time this season, so you have to get better." This convinced Bryce, thus, I called the house doctor.
He came a day later. Dressed in a normal white lab coat, carrying a stethoscope around his neck, and a case full of utensils in his hand. It took him about an hour to check Bryce. The small bad man, who I had learned was name Dr.Hamlton, had diagnosed Bryce with scarlet fever. The doctor said it was only a mild case. I hated to see the serious case. The doctor said it was an easy cure, no need to enter a hospital. Bryce was extremely relieved at that. The doctor prescribed Bryce with antibiotics, saying it would kill off the bacteria. We both thanked him, and soon, Bryce was fast asleep.
The doctor pulled me out of our bedroom. "Miss Y/L/N, I suggest Bryce doesn't get out of bed for a while. Any mild movements can be bad, and he must take the pills 3 times a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try to keep him eating non solid foods." I nodded, thanking the doctor once again."What would be the cause of scarlet fever? Is it contagious?" I asked. The doctor shook his head. "No, it's not contagious. As to how it can start, it usually is from strep throat." He told me. I nodded, intrigued with the new information. He handed me a note of the prescription drugs I needed to buy for Bryce, and left our house after I had payed him. I decided to cook some soup for Bryce, and set it on his table side for when he woke up. I than pulled on my coat and shoes, and went down to CVS, where I could get the antibiotics. I handed the women in a white lab coat the yellow paper, and she told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. I decided to get a quick lunch.
As I was sitting outside of a Starbucks with my frap and a sandwich, Bryce buzzed me. I picked up my phone, swallowing my food. "Hey babe." I greeted. Coughing was heard through the receiver, and my heart ached for my lover. "Hey. Where are you?" He rasped. I took a big gulp of my vanilla frap before answering. "Well, currently, Starbucks. I'm about to go back to CVS to get your medicine." A few sniffled. "Ok. Thanks for the soup. Can we watch a movie when you get home?" Bryce asked, like a child. I giggled, "Of course, I'll be home soon." After I hung up, I threw away my trash and went back to CVS. I picked up the antibiotics, thanking the women, and left.
"Babe?" I called softly through the house, closing the door. I placed my keys in a little dish we had beside the door, hung up my coat, and put away my boots. "Up here!" Bryce called dryly from our room. As I made the trek up the stairs, I thought of Bryce and scarlet fever. He had had strep throat a few months before, after spring training. It had only lasted 3 days, but it was still a nasty virus, which we both hated. That must have been the cause of his scarlet fever. I entered our shared bedroom. The blackout curtains were drawled closed, and Bryce was under a mountain of blankets and pillows. I laughed as he peered over our comforter. "It's cold!" He complained. "Come warm me up!" I complied, slipping into the bed.
"What movie do you want to watch?" I asked. Bryce shrugged, hugging me close to his toned chest. I smiled, nuzzling my face into his neck. Bryce breathed warm air over the nape of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. "Do I make you nervous?" Bryce whispered in his clogged voice. I looked up at him through my eyelashes. "Of course." I mumbled shyly. Bryce lifted my head for a kiss, but I turned my head so he kissed my cheek. "You're sick!" I scolded. I sat up slightly, searching my bag for the pill bottle I had received. "Take one of these." I twisted the cap and slipped out a blue pill, handing Bryce a glass of hot tea. He swallowed the pill and finished the tea.
He receded into the blankets, yawning. "Let's take a nap." I suggested, laying back down. Bryce nodded, spooning me. Our bodies molded together perfectly. His larger one shielded my smaller one. Our breaths mixed into a slow rhythm, making both of us drowsy. I could hear his faint heartbeat, and I was sure he could hear mine. Bryce's long hair was ruffled, in a cute, but sexy way. It was funny how he spent 30 minutes before a game to style it. He claimed it was for when he took his helmet off and everyone could see his hair, but I say it was to waste time. I yawned, my eyelids drooping. I was on the edges of sleep, ready to fall into the black abyss, when Bryce's voice pulled me out of my slurred state. "I love you Y/N. So damn much. Thank you for helping me." I grew giddy at the words, but decided not to say anything and pretend to sleep, as to not embarrass him.
I love you, too, Bryce Aron Max Harper.
