Max let out a sigh, hoping the surrounding bird kids would hear her silent plead of boredom. None of them paused their activities, which included book reading, writing, or a simple video game. "Ugghhhhh." Max let out another irritable groan. This time, Nudge looked up from her adventure novel, slightly annoyed. "What, Max?" She sighed, averting her eyes back to the book. "I'm bored." Mumbled the teen, hoping the younger girl would suddenly leap to her feet with a brilliant idea for an activity. But the girl did no such thing, leaving Max to sigh again. It seemed this day would include lots of sighing.

Nudge slammed her book down. "Tough." She snapped. "Go find a book and read like the rest of us." Max silenced at Nudge's harsh words. The soft patter of rain outside was the only thing heard throughout the mountain side house. But Fang seemed to hear Max's silent screams for attention. "How about we play truth or dare?" Suggested Fang. The others looked up. Angel nodded, setting down her notepad. Iggy shrugged, setting down his game controller. "Sure." Max leaped to her feet. "Great! I'll go first." She settled in the middle of the room, on the thick white carpet.

The rest of the gang settled around her. "Ok....Nudge," the tanned girls face paled. "Truth or Dare?" Cackled Max. Nudge swallowed thickly. "U-uh, truth." The crowd booed. Max shrugged. "Ok, truth. Are you secretly hiding romance novels?" asked the leader of the group. Nudge cast her eyes down. "Yes." She sighed. The gang ohed and teased. Max let out a laugh, pushing her sister softly. "Ok, go." Nudge straightened, looking around the circle. "Fang! Truth or Dare?" Fang crossed his arms. "Dare." He growled confidantly. Nudge scratched her chin in thought. "Well..."

Fang leaned back slightly, eyes wide. Nudge smirked triumphantly. "You can back out, but...that would mean 10 dollars for everyone." Fang let out a groan. "Ok, ok." He got to his feet, peering around the house. Iggy quickly covered Angel's eyes as Fang peeled off everything but his underwear. Then he sprinted into the rain, unfurling his wings. He began to dance, singing drunken love at the top of his lungs. The gang burst into laughter at watching their friend preform such a silly task. "Charming!" Called Iggy. Fang shot him the finger, crawling back in the house and snatching up the towel Max offered.

Fang ruffled his hair with the towel, pointing a pale finger at Nudge, who let out a frustrated sigh. "Nudge, truth or dare?" He asked. "Dare." Nudge mumbled, not bothering to put up with the playful banter of choosing truth. Fang smirked. "I dare you too...show us which novels you have." He challenged, remembering Max's earlier question. Nudge gaped at Fang, shaking her head. Fang thrust out a hand. "Pay up then." Nudge dropped her head. She didn't have enough money to pay up. Standing, she hobbled to her room, retrieving the cardboard box of books.

She shuffled back to the group, holding the box close. Everyone's eyes widened at the many novels she owned. "Where'd you get the time to collect these?" Gaped Angel, digging through the books. "How many are there?" Asked Iggy. "Hundreds!" Mumbled Angel, pulling out books and putting them back. "Well, now that you've seen them, i'll-" "Not so fast!" Chirped the raven haired boy. "You have to show us some of them, remember?" A deep blush rose to Nudge's cheeks. She shakily reached in, pulling out 7 books. "O-Ok." She spread the books out in front of herself.

"This," She pointed to the first one. "Is "A quick romance"" Everyone giggled at the title, and Nudge glared. "Shut up." She moved on to the next one. "This one is "How to love", this one is "Sweet as Honey," She went on to explain the rest, everyone laughing at the cheesy titles. Once she was done, Nudge put the box back. Once she returned, she mumbled profanities. "Why do you guys have to bully me." She growled. Iggy shrugged. "Well, it's not bullying."  Nudge mocked Iggy, annoyed by his smart ass personality. Iggy shrugged. A loud crack of lightning echoed around the room, and the lights flickered (DEMON) before going dead.

Max sighed. "Well, looks like a power outage." Angel let out a squeak of fear. Everyone got to their feet. "Well, I guess that's the end." Mumbled Nudge. All she got in response was a few creaks of the house. "Guys?" Whispered Nudge, before racing back to her room, scared of the imaginary beasts lurking in the darkness. She may have battled Erasers, but the dark was  a whole new story.

Sorry if this is so short, i've never read Maximum Ride before, so I kinda based this off the small amount of information I found. This was dedicated and requested by my friend
It was actually kinda hard because I didn't know the characters personalities, so I would super appreciate it if you didn't critique it because...I haven't read the book.
