Damon and Emily made the decision to visit Stefan in the tomb. Emily had baked some treats for Katherine, which irritated Damon. He grumbled that Katherine didn't need anything and could fade away for all he cared. Ignoring his complaints, Emily insisted on bringing the goodies, leading them to the tomb. Damon updated Stefan on the spell they had cast on the house to keep Elena from causing any trouble and potentially attracting an Original Vampire to town.

"You trapped her in the house?" Stefan asked, surprised.

"It's for the best. Trust me. Elena is on a martyr kick that rivals your greatest hits. You should be grateful that the witch and I are even getting along. I brought you something." Damon held up a bag. "Care package: candles, lanterns, and... lunch." He revealed a bottle of blood.

"If you give that to me, I'll just have to share it with her," Damon said, glancing at Katherine, who stood a short distance away.

"You two are surprisingly calm, considering Klaus will hunt you down and kill you if you interfere with his plans."

"I've been dead before. I got over it," Damon replied with a shrug. Emily playfully slapped his chest, and he turned to Stefan.

"Once we deal with this moonstone, we'll find a way to get you out."

"Don't worry about me. Just make sure Elena is safe." Emily rolled her eyes at the thought of having to spend her personal time watching over Elena to prevent her from harming herself. Damon glanced at Katherine before leaving with Emily, holding her hand as they walked to his car.

"Do we really have to go watch boring Elena?" Emily complains, her lips forming a pout. Damon pauses and tenderly cups her face in his hands.

"I know it's not ideal, but it's for your safety too," he responds. Emily huffs and turns her back to him.

"I get that," she sighs. "I just wanted one day. Just one day to be lazy, watch movies, and maybe cuddle." She pouts once more. Damon smiles and plants a quick kiss on her lips.

"We can still make that happen. Let's check on Elena, and then we can leave her with the witch," he suggests. Emily nods, and they begin walking back to the car.

Damon opens the door for Emily as they step into the house. Emily rolls her eyes at the sight of Elena sulking on the couch.

"You really should lock your door," Damon remarks, tapping on the wooden frame. "Come on, pouty. At least give me some credit for being creative."

"Do you think this is a joke?" Elena snaps back sharply.

"Yes, Elena. We find it quite amusing how far we have to go to save and protect everyone around you because you're too wrapped up in yourself to notice," Emily retorts.
