its early in the morning, hanni is always one of the first few students to arrive early in her class. she looks next to her seat before sitting and putting down her bagpack, it's empty and her brain automatically reminds her of what happened yesterday,

she just rolls her eyes at the thought, knowing that she has to sit with that annoying brown-haired guy again.

"well! im just not gonna talk to him and pretend he doesn't exist, problem solved!" she says not wanting to think more about it, smiling a bit as she stretches her arms

a few minutes later, she sees minjae outside the classroom while having his usual banana milk, but he just stays there, not entering the class yet, facing the other way which is next to their classroom.

a busybody person hanni is, she moves her head to the side trying to take a look what he is doing and she notices that he is talking to a girl from different class,

hanni just scoffs it off, "so he knows how to talk to a girl as well huh, 'doesn't talk to people that much' my ass" she mutters, remembering what minji talked about minjae yesterday.

minjae waves a goodbye at the girl one last time before turning around and hanni jumps when she realises he's entering the class. she looks away and quickly makes herself busy, trying to not make it obvious that she's been looking at him secretly.

with his other hand in the pocket, he walks to his seat at the back while playing the straw to his banana milk in his mouth. he awkwardly walks pass hanni and goes sit next to her.

the awkward guy glances at hanni a few times, like he wants to say something but he can't let it out because of how intimidating hanni looks right now. he first clears his throat to get over the painful silence and just when he's opening his mouth to say a word, hanni moves her desk away from minjae, leaving a small space between them.

minjae closes his mouth, mentally screaming and crying on the inside. it's as if he's trying to assure a jealous girlfriend but thats not it. he later has back his courage to speak,

"hey um, i don't know if you're still mad about yesterday when i said mean things to you but i just wanna say im sorry for being rude, i really mean it" he begins, facing his body to hanni who's pretending to read a book,

hanni is just side eyeing minjae who's looking at her with pleading eyes, "you are just saying that because you're scared being glared at by group of girls and don't want it to happen again" she responds with a cold voice and a straight face then goes back to read nothing,

"no!? it's not that! come on, i mean everything i just said,, i was just not in a good mood okay, i pretty much had a bad day before heading to school yesterday and my anger and rudeness just had to come out to a random person who only wanted to start a friendly conversation with me, i planned to apologise after lunch yesterday but um,, i just decided to do it today so yeah im really sorry" minjae explains, scratching the back of his head out of nervous.

hanni turns her head over her shoulder to look at minjae, she actually feels the genuineness in his voice but that doesn't change the fact that she still dislikes some parts of him that she cant tell, "whatever! just dont bother me! im trying to read here but i cant even focus because of you talking!"

"what are you even reading" minjae drags his chair closer to the girl, then moves his face closer to look at what hanni is reading making her to feel annoyed but at the same time she's surprised at the sudden action which makes her freeze the position she's in,

"we haven't learnt this topic yet" he straightforwardly says, then laughs later.

hanni immediately closes her textbook loudly, embarrassed of herself. oh how she just wanna kick him out of the window next to him, "seriously!? will you shut up! and get away from me!" she turns to face him which puts them into a weird position—their faces are a few inches apart because of minjae's closeness to hanni.

hanni gasps in surprise, the two stay quiet looking at each other in the eyes until minjae backs away so fast awkwardly, "my bad! im sorry!" he drags his chair back to his seat,

"you little sh— what is wrong with you? you're causing a problem again after apologising for yesterday!" once again the bad word almost come out of her mouth.

"alright fine im sorry again! it was an accident okay!?" he says, then sipping his banana milk through his straw.

hanni furrows her eyebrows then rolling her eyes, "just shut up will you?!"

"anyway yes my favourite drink is banana milk" minjae says out of nowhere,

"like i give a damn about it?!"

"im answering to your question from yesterday"

"and i dont care anymore."

minjae just laughs at the cold response, funny how he's intimidated by hanni just a while ago but now he's casually bothering her, "i bought two on my way to school, want one?" he takes out the banana milk from his bag pack, shaking it playfully up next to his cheek as he smiles,

and hanni notices something cute when she turns her head to minjae again, his dimples.

minjae offers the drink to her, "here have some so you'll feel more energ–"

"no thanks" hanni refuses before he gets to finish his words.

he just shrugs it off and puts back the drink, "well okay then"

minjae then finally shuts his mouth this time when he realises hanni doesn't seem to want to deal with him although all he's trying to do is be friendly and make it up to her over yesterday.

meanwhile hanni is confused over how different minjae acts today compared to yesterday, like this time its almost true to what most people would talk about him, is this how he usually talks with his friends or what? all laughing and talkative? or is it because of yesterday he's being like this.

then hanni takes a look at the brown-haired guy when she realises he's back being quiet like last time, only for her to meet his eyes— who is already looking at her,

"what are you looking at?" she asks coldly,

"nothing, just wondering why are you being mean to me"

"why does it bother you? and why are you saying that as if we have been friends for so long?" hanni raises an eyebrow,

"you dont wanna be my friend?"

hanni just lets out a scoff then looks back to the front, she can't take the question seriously since its funny to her because minjae looks like that one innocent kid who just wanna be friends but she's definitely not answering to that.

meawhile minjae is observing her when she looks away, wondering why she hasn't said a word until he realises,

ouch did i just get ignored? minjae asks to himself as he purses his lips, slowly looking back to the front as well.
