Possessed

Chapter 2

Will was anxious but he didn't know why, sure it could be that the Upside Down was leaking into Hawkins or that they had lost. It was something else and he could feel it. Will was at Hopper's cabin with Jonathan and El. Currently Joyce and Hopper were on duty together scouting for demorgans. So far there has been a quiet over Hawkins that Will couldn't stand. Will hummed as he was painting the scenery that he had painted him made him smile. He was almost done. Then the thought of Mike washed through his head. He hasn't seen or heard from the raven haired boy in a long time. He hasn't even talked to Mike since he was in the van with him. That was over two weeks ago. The thought of Mike brought heat to his face and tingling sensation that went throughout his entire body. God he loved that boy a lot. But ever since Mike confessed his love to El, Will has been distancing himself. He knew that Mike would never love him the same way as he did so he pushed him away and tried not to think of him. That left a pit in his stomach. Luckily today he was to see Mike at their weekly meetings as a group.

The group came one by one as they gathered around a table in Hopper's Cabin. They decided to meet at 1pm every Tuesday ever since their last encounter with Vecna.

"Where's Mike?" Dustin asked. Everyone was there besides Mike and something just felt off. The group went silent as they all turned to Nancy.

"I haven't seen him in a while." Nancy replied.

"You're his sister! What do you mean you haven't seen him in a while?" Dustin yelled.

"He just doesn't come out of his room often, he rarely even comes out for dinner. Besides I am pretty sure I saw him this morning, he probably just forgot." Nancy hissed.

"Fine, let's just start the meeting we can send someone to check on Mike after."

Will looked towards the ground feeling the pit in his stomach, this whole situation seemed off to him.

Nancy came home for dinner that night and there was no sign of Mike. So she creeped up to his room and steadily opened the door.

"Mike?" She asked.

The room was cold. It was the type of cold that made your body shake. Mike was sitting on his bed staring at the window.

"Hello Nancy, what is wrong?" Mike said as he turned his body around to face her. Nancy studied his face, Mike's face was pale with deep black circles under his eyes. The dark circles were always there but they have never been this dark. Nancy froze. This wasn't the Mike she said hello to earlier that morning.

"Nothing...just checking in." She smiled and quickly rushed out of the room. Nancy quickly scurried the house for clues. Eventually she found something, blood. Well the blood wasn't on the ground and it wasn't on anything else it was on a tissue in the bathroom garbage can. That made Nancy shiver, What if he is cursed? It made sense given the tissue, but Mike knew the signs and he would have told them right? Doubt filled Nancy's brain. "Hey Mike can you come down here for a second please I want to talk to you." She heard some footsteps and there was the raven haired boy standing in front of her. "Hey Mike, are you okay?" Nancy asked.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Mike smiled at her a deep unsettling smile that she has never seen before from the boy.

"Oh okay." And she walked out of the house and headed straight to Hopper's cabin. She needed to talk to Jonathan.

Nancy came busting into the cabin sobbing. Jonathan quickly stood up.

"Nancy what's wrong?" Jonathan asked worriedly.

"It's Mike. Something is wrong with him." The whole cabin which consisted of El, Hopper, Joyce, and Will became silent. Nancy raised her hand to her forehead. "I went to go check on him when he didn't show up to dinner and he was just sitting there, in his room staring at a wall. The room was super cold but he didn't seem to mind it. And his eyes..." Nancy murmured, "were just so scary. He was terribly pale and had dark black circles under his eyes."

"Mike is always pale what do you mean Nancy?" Will replied.

"No...it was white like snow. And when I-I looked around I saw in the bathroom garbage can there was many tissues with blood on them." Nancy looked around and panted.

"Wait isn't bloody noses a sign of Vecna's curse?" Joyce asked.

"Ye-es, it is but these tissues looked over a week old."

"I don't understand...if Mike is cursed he would tell us right?" Will looked at Nancy.

"I don't know unless he had a death wish or something. He has been acting strange the past few months though..." A lump was enlarging in Will's chest now. What did she mean by "Mike acting strange."?

El was quiet now but she was quiet because she was scared for her boyfriend.

"He would sometimes not come home until very early mornings. But It was only a couple times. I- mean that's normal teenage stuff. Right? I personally never experimented with that stuff but I guess..."

"Nancy, breathe." Jonathan remarked.

"Yeah we can go check on him together."Joyce smiled. Will was still quiet and Jonathan noticed. He noticed a lot of things and he especially noticed how heartbroken Will was after Mikes confession of love to El.
