𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐆𝐎𝐃𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 in silence. Percy trying to talk to Hope about anything really, but the poison girl just responded with short answers, not feeling like starting a conversation. It's not like Hope didn't want to talk to the boy, she did, she just had a bad feeling in her gut, and also because she was trying to comprehend the things she was feeling. But the thing that was keeping her quiet and driving her crazy was she didn't even know what she was feeling.
The sun had already gone down and was replaced by the moon by the time they had gotten to the amusement park, making this 10x more creepy than it needed to be.
Reaching to the entrance, the sign name of "Waterland Amusement Park" was shown big and bold, showing they were in the right place.
"I haven't seen a lot of horror movies, but this seems like exactly the kind of place they'd suggest to avoid." Perch said, looking at the sign in front of them.
Hope pulled a slight confused face at what Percy said, looking at him as he walked forward. "I've never seen a movie at all. Might just have to take your word for this one." She said, walking up next to him.
Percy looked at her, shocked. "Never? But I thought you were living somewhere before camp? Wouldn't you have seen a least one movie?"
"The orphanage never did anything nice for us. The most they would do was let us outside to play for five minutes. So watching a movie was out of the question." Hope sighed, looking at Percy and making eye contact.
She'd never told anyone about her past life, Luke and Annabeth barely finding about her past two years ago, so her telling Percy not only confused him, but confused herself too.
Percy just looked at her, slowly realizing she was finally trusting him. Opening up to him. Even if It was bits of stuff from her past she was telling him, it was something. And anything out of Hope Summers was bigger than nothing.
"Wait, so like "never-never"?"
"I mean if there isn't another kind of never than yeah, "never-never"." Hope said jokingly, a small smile played on her feature.
Percy just looked at her, even after she looked away from him, not noticing the light shade of pink show on her cheeks that appeared when he wouldn't look away. He loved her smile, even the small ones. He loved them more when he's the one that caused them.
Man, he was cheesy."Well, if neither of us are dead by the end of this quest, we really need to fix that "never-never" experience. You're really missing out." Percy said, both of them stopping. Hope looked at the boy, it being too dark to notice the light shade of pink on both of their faces.
"Yeah, maybe." Hope said softly, Percy looking away from the girl as he looked forward.
Percy smiled lightly, butterflies swarming in his stomach. "Well, in the meantime, we should really get this over with." He said before walking ahead, going to the cage like entrance.
As the gates creaked and the metal clanged against each other, Hope noticed something at the top of the gates. "Percy, stop." Hope called out, making him stop while also getting trapped.
"What just happened?" Percy asked, looking up, seeing saw like mechanisms that he had seen in a couple of horror movies, usually it meant that that person was gonna get killed, but why would it be in a gate entrance.
