It was another hot, miserable day in the Kingdom of Dark Land. The dry black trees are devoid of life, and the lava rivers slowly flow through the volcanic channels. The hot air is dry with ash and the clouds are always grey and cover the sun.
It was an unsustainable and miserable environment for anyone outside the kingdom.
Unless you happen to be one of Dark Land's many residents who adapted to this environment. Then chances are, you're only slightly miserable but still feel just as hot as you did. Though, that doesn't change much considering the ruler of this forsaken kingdom.
For you see, in the farthest corners of this barren kingdom sits a massive castle. Taller than any other kingdom's castle, with walls that stretch for miles around its perimeter. It sits on a plateau, surrounded by a lava moat that separates it from the land. It was connected only by a long metal drawbridge that allowed passage through the giant metal doors, where a statue of the King's head hung in place.
Inside, sitting on his magnificent throne built in his image, sits the King of Dark Land. The powerful, horrible, despicable, short-tempered, big-bad leader himself. The evil Koopa King Bowser.
He stands at 8'7ft tall, weighing in at 800 lbs of pure muscle and awesomeness. He's a large Koopa with fiery red hair, green scales on his face, sharp horns, and a mouth full of teeth that can crunch through just about anything. He wore five black spike bands: one around his neck, two around his wrists, and two around his shoulders. He had a large body covered in yellow scales, a long tail, sharp claws, three-toed feet, and a big green shell with large spikes on his back.
He was the embodiment of greed, anger, power, and evil all wrapped up into one. His ultimate goal was simple; to rule the entire world with an iron fist. His plans to reach that goal had varied for the past 35 to 40 years.
It all started when he plotted to take over the Mushroom Kingdom and marry Princess Peach. He had turned her kingdom's citizens, called Toads, into bricks. He had her taken into his castle, keeping her hostage until she agreed to his demands.
He was set to rule the world...until that fateful day.
A normal, ordinary human named Mario came and put a stop to it. He and his brother Green 'Stache. Bowser knew he went by a different name, but he honestly didn't remember what it was. Or cared, really.
After that fateful day, a pattern had begun to take place. Bowser would kidnap the princess over and over again, and Mario would come and save her. This repeating pattern would push Bowser to grow more ambitious. To stretch further out than simply taking over the Mushroom Kingdom or even the world. Bowser had attempted to expand his empire beyond the stars, to conquer the final frontier.
