Ch.7

* 2 months later

  I look at my watch for the hundredth time seeing it's 11:45am. I sigh frustrated that Tommy is late again to our brunch date. I grab my wallet pulling out $40 to cover my bill and a tip for the waitress. 

"Boyfriend stood you up again" I hear a voice say.

"Mind your business, Elijah," I say annoyed that he's noticed Tommy not coming to the last three dates.

"I'm just checking on you. We haven't talked in forever. It's like you've been avoiding me." He says sitting down at the booth.

"I don't need you to check on me Ej. I'm a grown-ass woman I can handle myself." I say getting up from the table.

"Hey whoa. You're snappier than usual." He says quickly standing to block my way.

"Yea cause it's niggas like you that irritate me," I say trying to move around him but he just blocks my way again.

"I know what's wrong. Eminem ain't hittin' it right?" He asks with a smug look on his face.

"Fuck you Elijah," I say slapping him hard across the face. 

  I quickly walk outside to get some air, but all I'm met with is the blistering heat of Chicago. I walk in the direction to the bar even though it's my day off, I just seem to can't stay away from work. A couple minutes into my walk I hear a car speeding behind me. I turn seeing it's Vic's truck.

"Celestial get in we need to talk," Vic says through the window

"I have nothing to say to you," I say walking away. Vic throws the car in park and jumps out running behind me.

"Celestial please Genesis is pregnant" he shouts.

  I stop dead in my tracks confused as to why he waited two months later to tell me. I walk back to him and slap him harder across the face.

"You cheated on me with my sister, fucked her in my bar, got her pregnant and you want me to talk to you? Fuck you and Genesis" I say walking away

"You know once Walter finds out about your little boyfriend and Claudia's operation he's gonna kill him," Vic says

"You won't be far behind him," I say throwing up my middle finger.

  Tommy has been making tons of money working with Claudia in secret, CBI, and Lilliana. We haven't been on the best of terms when it comes to Claudia and Lilliana. He's always out late at night with them or early in the morning. It's getting to the point where he's choosing to be with them instead of me, I understand he's working but I'm feeling lonely and unappreciated.

As I enter the bar I notice it's a lot more crowded than usual. Shorty's hard at work behind the bar and JP, Tommy's long-lost brother, is fixing the Jukebox.

"Hey, Celeste," JP says in his deep voice

"Hey. Where's your brother?" I ask leaning against the box

"Hell if I know." He says laughing. I nod and walk away towards my office.

  I noticed my office door was slightly opened which means JP or Shorty had been in there again. As I open the door I see a big bouquet of pink roses and chocolates. I pick up the little note reading it.

The truth is
If I could be with anyone
I'd still be with you.

I flip the note around looking for a name or something to tell me who this is from.

"Who sent those?" A voice said from the doorway. I snap my head up seeing it was Tommy. I angrily shoved the note in my drawer and walked to the other side of the desk.
