"Deal"

I smile hearing that he actually agreed to come to lunch with me. I looked over at the clock seeing it was already 1:30 pm. Perfect time for me to take a break and have Genesis take over.

"I'm gonna go get my things and let my sister know I'm stepping out," I tell him pouring one more shot.

As I walked away I could feel his eyes watching. I smile to myself quickly going downstairs excited to let Genesis in on everything.

I burst open the doors to Genesis's office seeing her online shopping as usual. I roll my eyes sitting down in the chair across from her.

"I'm about to step out for a minute so your services are needed upstairs if you don't mind," I say closing her laptop.

"Are you going out with the new guy up there?"

"If I am does it matter"

"No, but just because I told you to get over Vic doesn't mean jump on the first dick you see."

I sit back in the chair kind of hurt by her words. Was she right? Sure Tommy is fine as fuck and has this sexy gangster style and a very sexy New York accent, but there was no way I'd let him fuck me on the first night. I think.

"I'm about to leave so you might wanna head upstairs," I say avoiding eye contact. Her words did truly hurt me no matter how I looked at it. But I've been unhappy with Vic for the past eight months. We've been on and off, and constantly arguing. I've been feeling really lonely and it wasn't fair that Genesis doesn't want me messing around but she can bring home whoever whenever.

I walk into my office grabbing my purse and keys. I looked over at the security cameras to see if Tommy was still waiting for me, but instead, I saw Genesis talking to him, and based on the body language it was nothing friendly. I shook my head, turned off the lights, and locked the door to my office. As I made it to the top floor I saw Genesis all in Tommy's face talking rudely. I make my way over to them only for Genesis to stop talking.

"Ready to go?" I ask Tommy looking between him and Genesis. She has this mean look on her face while he has a smirk on his. I knew Genesis probably told Tommy some bullshit to keep him away.

"After you gorgeous," he said without breaking eye contact with Genesis.

As we walk down to the local diner Tommy and I are quiet. We let the sounds of the busy city fill our ears. Before you know it we're standing outside of  "Ej's Diner". Before I could open the door Tommy held it open and motioned me inside.

"Wow, so you are a gentleman," I say teasingly

"Sometimes," he says lowly with a smirk.

I walk past him into the diner knowing exactly what he meant by that comment. As we walk in I let the smell of coffee, pies, and the mixture of other good comfort foods fill my nose. "Yo Celeste" I hear someone yell.

I look over and see my old friend Elijah Johnson. Elijah took over Ej's diner after his dad, Elijah Johnson Sr, passed away who previously owned it with his brother.

"Wow, Celestial you lookin good today," He says flirting.

"What about yesterday and the day before that?" I ask trying to sound offended.

Tommy coughs loudly making me laugh, he thinks I forgot about him.

"Elijah this is Tommy. Tommy this is my friend Elijah he owns the place." I say gesturing between the two.

"Nice place you got here," Tommy says in his thick New York accent.

"You ain't from here are you, Eminem," Elijah says laughing.
