Regina's Pov:
The not-so-sudden realization made me stay up all night for the next few days, sure, I wasn't the queen bee anymore but my whole influence could not have just slipped away. Dawn Schweitzer's opinion wasn't so relevant to the point I could be reminiscing about a friendship I lost years ago...I was Janis's best friend, not her, I knew Janis and trust me I would know whether she was a lesbian or not. And even if she were, Y/N couldn't be her type!
Y/N is just too popular, Janis doesn't like popularity and stuff, I do! So if I was a lesbian, then sure Y/N would be my type, not hers. But I am not a lesbian, Janis is no longer my friend and I need to channel my rage through lacrosse, that's what the doctor said and that's what I am doing now.
My mind goes off as I run rapidly in the field, perhaps this lacrosse thing really works because I haven't thought about Janis and Y/N for like 5 minut...Fuck it I just did it.
Y/N's Pov:
— And that's how I accidentally almost burnt down my grandma's house when I was five! — Said the girl laughing at my shocked face.
— Remember me to never leave you near a Kitchen, please. — I spoke laughing back at her.
— Janis sure does look like someone who would commit arson... — Damian whispered with a smirk on his face.
— In her defence, she was a five-year-old artist unsupervised, she had crayons and a dream! — Cady said lying in the grass.
Since coach Carr had been fired after his "suspicious behaviour around female students" sex ed had become more of a skipping class for everyone and as it was a warmer day we decided to skip it around the lacrosse field. Which seemed like a great decision if it wasn't for the sudden change of events.
Regina's Pov:
I hit her eye with the ball, not purposely...At least I hope not purposely. Everyone runs after the black-haired girl now lying in the grass.
— Janis?? Are you okay? — Y/N abruptly says to what seems like an injured Janis, Dawn looks at me with a knowing smirk on her face, but I just brush it off looking at the scene.
— Sorry there, Janis! Come on girls let's go back to the game! — I say trying to walk my way out of there, but Dawn's arm stops me from it.
— Don't you think it is for the best that you take Janis to the nurse? — Says the know-it-all Dawn Schweitzer, as I reach for a fast response I'm interrupted.
— Actually, yeah, Regina, don't you think is for the best that you do that? — Spoke Y/N, Cady looking at me as if asking not to put up a fight.
I breathe deeply.
— Sure, let's go Janis. — I reach for the girl, who doesn't seem very happy about the resolution, Y/N stands after us, but I stop her. — You asked me to take her, no need to come along.
As we wait for the nurse to come up with something to Janis's eye, the girl looks at me.
— You didn't have to come. — Says it with a tired voice
— It wasn't like I had a choice, you're...friend seemed a little emotional about it. — Janis has a breathy laugh. — I don't even know why she acted out like that! — Another laugh could be heard, this one a little louder.
— She reminds me a little bit about you, you know?
— She's not that pretty, not as me at least. — I mean, what could Y/N and I have in common? We're nothing alike, except for her kinda undeniable slightly prettiness.
— Emotional, I was going to say emotional. — Now I was the one hit on the face, metaphorically at least, I had always been a little protective over Janis when we were kids, I just didn't expect her to remember it.
— You don't know me. — I said as the nurse came in and I made my way to the locker room to change from my lacrosse clothes. Dawn Schweitzer's opinion really wasn't relevant, but it wasn't completely wrong, I don't know these Janis, I can not point out every aspect of her life now, just what I knew in the past. However, as so, Janis doesn't know me anymore. She can't call me emotional, she can't compare me to Y/N.
