Regina's Pov
The locker room for once looked empty, the girls had already gone, and I had it for myself. As I take my things out of my locker, something falls behind me.
— Oops, sorry!
I scream. Loudly.
I turn around, Y/N standing looking horrified at me.
— If you were cast in a horror movie you would be a perfect first victim, pretty and loud. — She playfully says, but I keep quiet.
— What are you doing here? — I ask turning back around to my locker.
— I could ask you the same thing. The girls are already gone.
— They didn't have to go to the nurse, you know? — I harshly answer — What about you?
— Dawn texted me asking to pick up her purse in her locker.
— And why would you pick it up? — I never once saw Dawn speak with Y/N, why would she text her?
— Oh, I thought you knew. Dawn is my cousin. — Fuck it. That's why Dawn was acting like that. — We don't talk too much at school because she says she prefers "not to be caught up on my popularity". — She says laughing again.
— I didn't ask.
— I thought you weren't such an asshole anymore, at least that's what Cady and Damian said.
— Weren't you supposed to pick up your cousin's purse? — I say while closing my locker.
— Right, yeah. — Her laughing smile finally changes to a straight face, she opens the locker and picks up the purse. — Bye, Regina. Next time try not hitting on a girl like that. Flirting without a lacrosse ball is much better.— She says with a wink, which I quickly try to ignore. But just as quickly I blush.
What was that supposed to mean?
Y/N's Pov
— And then I said "Oh, I thought you knew. Dawn is my cousin" and I am sure she was pissed, her face transformed. — I tell my Dawn as drive home. — Does she not like you or something?
— I disliked Regina in the past, she was kind of a bitch back then and now everyone just accepts her sudden change of character, but I am sure she is just as bitchy as she was before. You saw what she did to Janis's eye today!— I keep quietly listening until I can't take it.
— Cady, Damian and Janis are okay with her now, I don't see why she couldn't have changed. Doesn't she have like major anger issues and is just doing lacrosse because of that? —
— That's what people say, but I think now that the Plastics left her she is seeking attention going to the team and stuff, you know. — I stayed quiet again, Her logic didn't make much sense, at least in my cousin's mind the Lady's Lion team was a big school social institution everyone would beg to get into.
For the rest of the day, the thought of what happened to Regina George kept appearing to me.
