Lillian's POV

They had walked for about four minutes, Landon joking with Natasha as Sofia kept looking at random restaurants they passed. She asked of they could stop at a certain Greek one, but Lillian said no, promising they'd go when they were done at the casino.

Lillian was enjoying the sun, the heat a welcome feeling. Lillian liked being in the sun. It felt kind of like when she set little flames alight on her fingertips. Warm, tingly, and comfortable.

They approached the casino. It wasn't a necessarily big one, about the size of a large arcade. There was noise and cheers coming from inside. Sofia looked annoyed, but Landon and Natasha looked thrilled.

Lillian turned on them and said,
"Any of you see anything, come find me. Alright?" The other three nodded, and they headed in.

Lights were flashing, machines were playing, cheers and complaints could be heard. Landon was eyeing up a game of pool, but Sofia dragged him away before him or Natasha could get distracted.

Lillian walked off and near a corner of a table playing poker. She scrunched her nose in disgust and passed by the bar. There was a lady with box braids dusted with flecks of gold sitting at the bar.

Lillian passed by calmly, basically ignoring the woman. The woman took a last sip of her drink, and Lillian rolled her eyes. When the lady's glass refilled by itself, Lillian paused and looked at her weirdly.

The lady didn't look up at her, only saying boredly,
"There you are, demigod." Lillian watched as the lady spun around on the barstool, turning to face her.

She looked no older than 28, wearing a leather jacket matched with black skinny jeans and an ABBA band shirt. She smiled, downing her drink and placing her cup back down the bar's counter.

She gave the look of a cool older sibling who helps you out sneak out to parties at three in the morning. Lillian ignored that, deciding that she might as well get this conversation over and done.

She also had a little crown ring on her left middle finger, glinting in the lights of the casino. Lillian stood up straight, nodding awkwardly.
"I am the goddess Tyche. But I don't think you really need to guess that."

"I need to speak to you about my quest." Tyche rolled her eyes.
"Straight to business. Come and sit down then." Lillian hesitated before sitting on the stool beside the goddess.

"I'm guessing you know about this argument between Aphrodite and Eris." Lillian nodded. "Cool. So you've probably heard Aphrodite's version, haven't you?"

Lillian nodded. "Yeah." She didn't really know what to say as Tyche was saying it all for her.
"What do you know then?" Tyche asked, calling over the bartender to refill her drink.

"That her and Eris had a small argument, and Eris took the sword as petty revenge." Tyche scoffed, sipping her newly refilled drink. The bartender turned to Lillian and looked at her in confusion.

"She's with me, James." Tyche said, smiling as the bartender, James, nodded and walked off to serve other customers. Lillian sat nervously, hands fiddling on the counter as she lit mini flames on her fingertips.

"The argument wasn't small to Eris." Tyche spoke calmly, placing down her cup with a clink. "She's lying to you."
"How?" Lillian asked, listening intently.

"Aphrodite and Eris have spent the last few centuries in a small, ongoing feud. It was always small things, such as Aphrodite ripping the hem of Eris' robe, Eris 'losing' one of Aphrodite's products. Small stuff like that."

"A few weeks ago, they got into a massive argument. I can't really remember how it started, but it ended with Aphrodite saying that Eris can only do what her mother allows her to. She said that she has no importance without Nyx."
