Little Evie was roaming out in the tranquil streets. No vehicular disturbances, no construction sites nearby nor any kids playing.
It was simply dead calm.

But would you still consider the term "dead calm" as something positive?

After a while of walking down the street she was living in, she took a minor turn to the right; witnessing a whole bunch of kids playing in the large mountain of nothing but gravel and sand.

Her eyes lit up with cheer and excitement as she wished to tag along.

Her steps small yet so fragile, slowly and gradually made their way to the sand mountain. As she stopped, she felt a mild satisfaction of stepping forward and making it all the way to that area. She felt proud of herself.

Considering her innocence, Evie appreciated teensy achievements.

"Are..you new around here?"

A boy, who looked around Evie's age, came towards her and suddenly spoke the above.

Evie responded with a quick nod and stared at his brown eyes.

Eyes, that were so beautiful, they shone in the dimming sunlight making every aspect visible optically in characteristic details. A skin that looked so soft & bright along with strands of messy hair sticking to his forehead.
He looked quite older, perhaps, around 12 years of age but it didn't make much of a difference between the two short stacks.

They'd make great friends, and Evie believed that the time their eyes met one another's.

The days went on with Evie's glory of making her very first bonds in the new neighbourhood.
She was proud, fascinated, and trusted her new friend while pushing her swing, whom she was told the name as "Archer".

Archer, Evie's first friend.

5th February, 2017

"AGH! it hurts.. So bad.. "

Evie cried out, she was bleeding from her right knee.

She struggled to wipe those fountain salty tears running down her rosy cheeks, while trying to numb the pain, she bit her lower lip and squeezed her eyes shut.

She soon blew on her bleeding wound to somehow soothe the throbbing itch, hugging her knees in defence as she bawled like a toddler.

Where was Archer? You must be wondering.

Well, it was his birthday today.

I suppose.. Evie can't make it.

Evie looked around desperately for some
Aid.

Poor Evie could only think of her apparent close friend, Archer.

Only if he was here.

He would protect her.

...

After about 15 minutes, Evie's ears twitched in anticipation when she heard those familiar footsteps.

Finally, he was here. She was so anxious a few moments ago, debating if she should break out off her shell and
Scream for help. But now, it's as if her worries turned to dust and blew off in the cool breeze.

She swinged her head towards the source and called out, "Arch-.. "

Her eyes widened in disbelief.
