As Sofia wrapped up her classes, exhaustion weighed on her shoulders. The relentless curiosity of her friends about her mysterious boyfriend had drained her energy. All she craved was the comfort of home - cozy jammies, Ghibli movies, and an array of junk food. However, a sudden realization hit her - it was Friday, the day reserved for the special dinner bonding with her father.
Dragging herself home, Sofia contemplated the delightful prospect of her father's homemade meal. Their Friday dinners were their sanctuary, a time to share their day's adventures, accomplishments, and dreams. Excitement bubbled within her as she envisioned the dessert her father would prepare.
Upon arriving home, she briskly showered and headed to the kitchen to prepare the ingredients. To her surprise, she found Marco indulging in a plate of cookies and sipping on juice. Inquiring about her father's whereabouts, Marco mentioned he was on his way, wrapping up some work in his office.
Curious, Sofia couldn't help but tease him, "Feeling a bit like the Cookie Monster, are we?"
With a cheeky grin, Marco retorted, "Hey, these cookies are an excellent appetizer. Your father's cooking deserves a proper introduction."
As their banter unfolded, Marco redirected the conversation to address the morning's incident. "Sofia, regarding the kiss this morning," he began sternly, "we need to establish some boundaries. It was a bit too much, don't you think?"
Sofia, with a laugh, playfully responded, "My bad, Marco. Can't promise it won't happen again, though." Marco, raising an eyebrow, responded with a resigned sigh.
Their discussion faced an abrupt interruption when Sofia's father entered the kitchen asking what they were talking about.
Caught off guard, Sofia fumbled over her words, managing only an awkward,
"Uh... we were just discussing..."Marco, quick on his feet, smoothly intervened, "We were talking about Sofia's band practice and how impressive they were, Sir"
He offered a charming smile, successfully diverting attention and earning a playful nudge from Sofia.
As Sofia and Marco shifted their attention to preparing dinner alongside her father, a light-hearted atmosphere enveloped the kitchen.
The Don, with a teasing glint in his eyes, turned to Marco, "So, Marco, how's my daughter treating you?" Sofia rolled her eyes at her father's playful inquiry.
Marco, maintaining a respectful tone, replied, "Sofia keeps me on my toes, but it's all in good fun Sir." Sofia smirked, appreciating Marco's smooth response.
"By the way Sofia, your birthday is just around the corner. Any plans for the celebration?" Her father asked
Sofia, caught off guard, looked up from her task, a mix of realization and surprise on her face. "Oh, I completely forgot about my birthday," she admitted with a sheepish grin.
The Don chuckled, "Well, we can't let that day go unnoticed. Any special preferences for the celebration? A particular place you'd like to celebrate?"
As Sofia pondered her father's question, a sudden idea seemed to strike her, and with a smile, she turned to her father and Marco.
"I've got the perfect idea for my birthday celebration," Sofia declared, excitement bubbling in her voice. The Don raised an eyebrow, and Marco looked intrigued.
