Sofia's eyes fluttered open, the unfamiliar surroundings and the sterile scent of the hospital room leaving her disoriented. She blinked, attempting to make sense of the blur around her. The memories that should have greeted her upon waking were elusive, like fragments slipping through her grasp.
"Where... where am I?" Sofia said whispering to herself
The door creaked open, revealing the concerned face of a doctor who approached her bedside.
"Ah, welcome back, Sofia. You've been through quite an ordeal."
"Ordeal? I don't... I don't remember." Sofia said confused
"It's normal to feel disoriented. You experienced temporary memory loss due to a traumatic event. But don't worry, we're here to help you recover." The Doctor replied.
As the doctor explained, Sofia's mind was a blank canvas, devoid of recent experiences. She couldn't recall her own identity, the people in her life, or the events that led her to this hospital bed.
"Who am I? What happened to me?" Sofia continued to ask
"You're name is Sofia, and you're in the hospital. There was an incident, but let's focus on your recovery for now. Your memories will come back in time." The Doctor explained.
Days turned into nights, and the void in Sofia's memory persisted. Her father, visited her regularly, filling in the details she cant remember.
"How are you feeling, sweetheart?" The Don asked Sofia
"I don't understand any of this. What happened to me?" Sofia replied bewildered
"You're going to be okay, Sofia. You're a strong girl. It might take a bit, but your memories will eventually come back, we'll take it one step at a time." Her Father softly said.
As days turned into weeks, Sofia's wounds healed, but the shadows of forgotten memories lingered in her mind. Her father orchestrated a seamless transition for her, ensuring she could continue her studies from the safety of her room.
"I've arranged for you to finish your studies online. We want you to graduate without any disruptions."
"Thank you, Dad. I appreciate everything you're doing for me." Sofia happily replied
Little did Sofia know, the web of carefully spun deception was meant to shield her from the painful truth. Her father, determined to keep her safe, had taken drastic measures, erasing any trace of Marco and the perilous events surrounding her kidnapping from her conscious mind.
Meanwhile, Marco, distanced from Sofia by circumstance, wrestled with the weight of his emotions. The organization required his attention, but Sofia's absence left a void he couldn't easily fill.
