A shoulder to lean on; Week 2

It hadn't stopped raining since yesterday-last night; The walk to school felt way faster than usual. Probably because he was busy thinking about yesterday. That incident- it had been keeping him engaged for quite some while now. Atfirst he thought that it'd go away in a few minutes or so. Minutes turned into hours. Hours into days. And days had become weeks already. Well, only two weeks; but still.

Something about that encounter felt surreal. Something was off. Chuuya knew it. He just didn't know what. Had he known Dazai some way or the other? Was it the name? Was it how he looked? Well, he was quite a queer guy. Had he met him before this? Did he remind the ginger of someone perhaps? Well, who knows?

Oh. He was already at the school gate. Chuuya was so invested on pondering over who that was, he'd completely forgotten he was on his way to school. So well immersed on thinking about the jacket and that guy that he even gave up his habit of sweating himself on what was going to be done today and the homework given the day before; that sure took off what felt like a few hundred years of suffering off of his shoulders.

The school hallway was light and bright, even upon the stormy days its grand windows let in a bouquet of rays. It was crowded with students everywhere. The talks echoed in the hallways as they gossiped and laughed. There were sounds of people opening their lockers 'nd in the very same scene were distant sounds of doors being slammed.

Chuuya could already feel all the excessive perfume and deodorant choking him.

"Ugh, how abhorrent." Chuuya muttered under his breath; However so, Akutagawa heard it. He was standing right beside chuuya. Akutagawa was chuuya's friend. He had short, choppy black hair with side bangs that reach his chin and turn white at the tips. His eyes are sharp, somewhat baggy, and a dark empty grey. They complimented his pale white skin.

Akutagawa quietly walked beside chuuya. He did not comment, because even though all the 'punk-ey' behaviour and all the cursing- Chuuya fared quite well at school. The teachers liked him too. Chuuya could be uncharacteristically generous and kind when he wanted. He also had a soft spot for kids.

Chuuya smiled faintly seeing the children runabout here and there. That is, until he noticed a familiar shadow walk past him; Chuuya turned around to look, only to see a tall brunette boy. *the*  tall brunette boy.

Though it was quite hard to believe it was him, Chuuya was sure. The other had, somehow- in a way an eerie aura around him. It felt as though the start of something sinister. No matter how cheerful he seemed he still had that feeling around him.

Last Chuuya saw him- his eyes almost felt soulless.. like it was missing a part of it. Only- he didn't know what. It was as though two dark hollows followed by emptiness and the--indispensable feeling of nothingness. It had no light. Almost as if he wasn't human.

As soon as he saw him, Chuuya bolted towards the brunette- his his hair swung in the air as he ran. Akutagawa didn't stop him. Chuuya seemed like he was rather, in a hurry.

"hey! Dazai!" Dazai heard someone call out his name. It was rather faint but audible. And in the very next moment he felt a strong and firm grip on his hand. He certainly didn't know anyone that stong. Just who was this? Well.., that would be what you would expect someone to ask. Dazai on the other hand, brushed it off as the fact that his friend simply got stronger. He did not question any further. Atleast, he was too tired to do so.

Dazai, of all people, did not want to interact with someone that early in the morning. But alas, luck was not by his side. (Not that it ever was). "Hello!!" Dazai responded back- cheerfully.

Chuuya finally stopped. He could now have a clearer look at him. Upon that, it was him.

"I believe this jacket is yours.?" Chuuya huffed-breathless.

"Oh. Wait, it's you!"

Chuuya was surprised by the sudden enthusiasm but responded back, uninterested.

"..yes"

"I didn't know we went to the same school! Which grade are you in??" Dazai was rather interested now, for some unknown reason.

"10th grade.Oh and, I just came by to thank you for yesterday." Chuuya did not want to start unnecessary conversations. He simply wanted to return the jacket, thank him, and leave. He simply had on a monotonous face. Uninterested and unwilling to do any of this- but was convinced by kouyou to do so, otherwise.

On the other hand, Dazai was Starstruck.

"EHHH- WHAT!?"

"What's wrong?"

"... I- I thought you were in sixth grade.."

"I take it back. You suck." Chuuya always hated being seen as a kid because of his height and those words only agitated the ginger. They made his blood boil. The moment he heard it, Chuuya had an urge to punch his guts. Only, he couldn't do it. Since, well- he didn't want to get on the detention. Especially since it was only his second day at school. And as a result stormed out.

He threw the jacket on Dazai's face as he walked out and went on his way. Dazai was quite surprised- but only laughed at the sudden expression. As for Chuuya, he'd wished with all his heart that he would never meet that guy again- even if it meant he died. But only if that were true. They were both assigned multiple classes together.. And the fact he sat right next to him didn't help.

Chuuya hated this. But for Dazai it only felt like another normal day. Someone he knew came up to him only to regret their decisions and walk out. But this time it was quite fun. Dazai had found, in a way- entertainment in teasing the other. He had something to look forward to now. It wasn't the loop of each day over and over again this time. He didn't hate talking to people at school or walking there on a rainy day, if it meant seeing Chuuya.
I guess he found a shoulder to lean on.

He didn't hate the rain anymore either. It felt calm. He liked looking outside the window to see the busy streets with people scurrying over to find shelter; to hear the pebbles and stones sing along with the rain, to find the flowers dancing along with the song. It was why they met right? It didn't seem that bad anymore. He didn't hate it anymore-

The rain.
