"so I assume you have learned the script we gave you, take your time but introduce yourselves and whenever you are ready just start, okay!... Laura is everything alright?"

The casting director continued trying to get Laura's attention but was unsuccessful. She was too infatuated with the boy stood in front of her.

Sure he had different hair and style, he had gotten way taller and much more handsome but she still knew instantly it was him.

Brady Noon.

It was the eyes, she could recognise them anywhere. They were the same eyes that used to peer into her soul and read her mind like a book. swimming pools of stars Laura used to get lost in for hours on end.

And now with the very same pair of eyes locked on her, with that same attentive stare and those same gorgeous eyelashes framing them, a surge of old romance flew threw her body almost knocking her off balance.

"Ahem. Is something wrong? HELLOOOOO!"

Brady and Laura both caught off guard by the volume of the casting director snap back to reality. Laura takes a deep breathe and without warning starts the scene to which Brady quickly follows.

"Oh sorry I just came to the kitchen for a drink of water I'll get out of your way"

"No it's okay... you're Nicole aren't you. Roses friend?"

"Oh yeah I am... if you don't mind me asking, how did you know my name?"

"I've noticed you around school I guess. Is that a bad thing?"

Laura walks closer to Brady until they are practically touching toes, he feels his heart beat faster but tries his best to focus on remembering the words

"What if I said I've noticed you around school too, Henry."

"And scene, okay that's all I need you can let yourself out we will let you know"

Laura smiles at the casting directors and walks out without even looking behind her, she needed to get away from him. She felt a strong hand on her shoulder, stopping her in her tracks.

"Laura wait, I wanted to know... if you wanted to go to a cafe and maybe like.. catch up?"

Laura held her breath 'say no, say no, say no, say no'

"Yeah I'd like that" she replied. Fuck.

Laura and Brady sat across from each other in the little cafe, both in silence. Laura was still in disbelief that she had actually agreed to go out for coffee with Brady, and Brady was thinking the exact same thing.

Brady finally mustered up the courage to start a conversation "So what's been going on in your life?"

"Not much, are you still in the acting class?"

Brady gulped and looked down at his lap "nah. I left the class right around the time you did... you were kind of the only reason I stayed."

As Laura was about to poke further Brady answered a call, 'what did he mean I was the only reason he stayed, did he leave because he had no one to torture, or maybe-'

"Oh wait what? Mom I'm with someone right now, I can get the bus... seriously? Okay."
Brady hung up the phone
"Sorry that was my mom she's outside, I have to go but let me drop you home okay?"

Laura tried to deny but he wouldn't let her, she followed him out of the cafe and down to street to a grey bmw.

"Brady you didn't tell me the friend you were with was a girl no wonder you wanted to stay longer, so what's your name dear?"

Brady sank into his seat and covered his face with his hands, Laura felt impolite correcting her so she decided to go along with it.

"My names Laura, I think you're friends with my mother Maria? Maria hixonpit?"

"OH MY GOODNESS you're Maria's daughter! We were dorm mates back in college UGH those were the days. I haven't seen her since... it must've been the play you two munchkins did when you were twelve! ugh you were SO adorable i remember how cute you looked all red when Brady-"

"Mom." Brady interrupted sternly. She rolled her eyes and continued speaking.

"Well, it's great to see you two are back in contact I remember how sad Brady was when you left. So tell me dear, how is your mother whats my girl up to these days."

Laura tried to ignore Brady looking at her through the mirror but she could feel her cheeks turning pink
"Well I think she's under a bit of pressure because we are redoing our house so my grandmother can move in with us, right now her and my dad are up in Arizona getting everything sorted."

"so where are you staying dear?"

Laura gulped. "Oh em well I wasn't able to stay with my parents because school and work so I've been at a hotel for the past few days."

Laura immediately heard a gasp from the front seat " a HOTEL?! that's absurd! A girl as young as you should not be staying by herself in a hotel it's simply too lonely, never mind expensive. I am going to call Maria and tell her we have a spare room and you can stay there for however long you want."

Laura couldn't tell if she was about to cry or vomit "no really it's no big deal it's fine"

Laura tried to bargain but she was having none of it "you are staying with us until your house is renovated end. of. story."
