Helaena

Waking up in the Slytherin Dorm Room, where the sun nearly peaked over the Black Lake and did not blind you like it would in the Gryffindor Dorm Rooms. I got up a little before everyone else, a habit I still kept from when I lived with the Dursleys and went to the bathroom to clean up the sleep from last night and get dressed. I put my hair in another braid and walked out of the bathroom as Druella, Dorea, and Mia were just waking up and they looked at me with shock.

"I've always been an early riser. Ever since I was younger." I said with a shoulder shrug as the girls took turns getting ready and did their hairs in braids similar to me.

"It's almost time for breakfast, come on...let's go." The four of us walked out of the dorm rooms and into the Common Rooms where some people were also awake and starting their mornings, including the younger first years and still not used to everything second years. By the time we arrived for breakfast, it was morning, and other students were piling in to the Great Hall for breakfast. I sat down with the girls and started loading some things on to my plate with a nice cup of hot, sweet tea to down it with. Professor Slughorn and the two Slytherin prefects came by with the schedules for September's classes and I looked down at it and nodded.

"All the extra classes I asked for are here." I said with a smile.

After breakfast, we had nothing between the times of 9:15 to 10:00 AM, Druella, Dorea and Mia all took me on a tour of Hogwarts and showed me around the different areas for students, though I did not need a tour, everything here in this time as it was in my time, save for the few extra classes of Art, Music, Etiquette, Pureblood Histories...all gone by the time I entered Hogwarts but I was not going to allow that to happen.

"It's tradition that half-bloods and muggles who were not brought up in our world take such lessons like Etiquette and Pureblood Histories so they know where their magic comes from and how to act if they wish to continue in our society." Druella explained as we passed by and saw a mix of first, second, and third years in the class. I nodded and the bell sounded, meaning we had to get to our first class which was Transfiguration with the Gryffindors. I sat next to Mia while Dorea and Druella took the pair of seats behind us as others came in, followed by Professor Dumbledore and I could once again feel him try to get into my head, but I kept it locked real tight.

"Today class, we shall be reviewing what we learned in the past six years in this class. Tell me, Miss Potter...what is the correct way of turning animals into water goblets?" Dumbledore asked and my friends tried to protest but he quieted them.

"You count three times, whether out loud or in your head and then say the incantation 'Vera Verto', professor." I answered in a civil tone, but it seemed like he did not like my answer or me at all. Dumbledore hummed and went back to teaching not even giving points for that.

"He usually gives us at least five points...what gives?" Druella asked as we left the classroom, and I shrugged.

"Probably expected me to either fail or be a 'Gryffindor' like my brother and cousin, I bet. Yet, Monty has the heart to be a Puff and Charlus no doubt has brains that could rival any Ravenclaw." I said as we made our way for double Charms with the Hufflepuffs. The professor was nice and different than Dumbles had been, giving points fairly rather than on favoritism.

'That is something that really needs to change if you ask me.' I thought as I sat down for lunch and helped myself to some roasted chicken and veggies when mail started coming in. A beautiful owl came and landed right in front of me with three letters, all with the Potter seal on them. After I finished eating, I gave some chicken pieces to the owl before it flew off. I took the first letter and opened it, seeing it was from my parents.

'Dear Helaena, congratulations on being sorted into Slytherin. Regardless of what people may think, we are proud of you as we do not hold to the stigma that has started to surface back at Hogwarts. However, I would be careful around Dumbledore as he sent us a letter on how we must be disappointed you are not in his house. Don't worry, your mother sent a scathing letter reminding him that he is only a professor at Hogwarts, not family and has no say in our affairs. Your mother says 'Hello'. Now, I have to go check the boys' letters to make sure they did not send anything 'charming' to Dumbledore. Your parents.'

'Dear Hela, can you believe that old coot tried to guilt trip mum and dad? You better do your best in Slytherin or else...and keep Mia away from the cockroach clusters, I still haven't forgiven her about that. Anyways, I will send another letter when I can. Love, Monty!'

'Dear Helaena, I heard you made Slytherin. The paintings at home said that is the house you would do well in. I know already you have a small court forming that includes Dorea, Mia, and Druella but might I suggest Cassandra Fawley, fellow Ravenclaw seventh year? I also recommend, though she no long attends as she has graduated, Augusta Longbottom. That woman is scary when she is pissed off. Oh, and don't worry about the old coot....He'll know that his place is in Hogwarts teaching and not spouting off 'Greater Good' crap. With love, Charlus....P.S. KEEP DOREA AWAY FROM THE COCKROACH CLUSTERS!'

"Dare I ask about the cockroach clusters?" I asked putting the letters in my bad and both Dorea and Mia burst out laughing.

"They pranked the boys two years ago at a Yule gathering...it was funny." Druella said as Mia and Dorea wiped 'tears' from their eyes.

"I say, when the Hogsmeade trips start again, I know where I am heading first." Dorea said as we finished lunch with the vow that this weekend, I would expand my court by way of tea party invite by the lake. After lunch, we went about on our lessons at Hogwarts with it ending on Astronomy which I had every night this month, with a few time exceptions. As I settled down for the night, I watched as fish and even the squid, swim by the window and thought about what all I would need to do and what I would after Hogwarts was over with.

'The main thing....stop Dumbles from getting too powerful and stop Riddle before he really goes overboard with the power tripping.' Were my last thoughts for the day as I finally fell asleep.
