Little Boy and Fat Man hit, the events of which were the first domino in a row of disasters to come. The destruction it brought served as a show of atomic power; a lesson to humanity... but karma was yet to be paid.

Not a decade later, the first Kaiju Girl arose; titled Gojira. She attacked where the bombs had landed, bringing with her a black burn on the world and how people saw it, and set another domino to motion, as it led to greater infection of radiation, and a falling of another domino. Humanity had seemed to learn its lesson... karma had not been paid.

More Kaiju Girls emerged over the short course of half a decade from Gojira's rise, before stopping. They didn't bring as much death as she had but still awoke from the same reasons. All of them couldn't be put down the same way as Gojira, as the weapon that killed her and the man who made it perished, some could still be killed through other methods or weren't a threat.

Karma would soon be paid.

In the form of Daisuke Serizawa's relative, later down the line, in 1978.

Shigeru Serizawa had been trying to develop a cure for radiation poisoning, through a chemical of his creation. He tested it with Giant Asian Salamanders, who'd lived near Nagasaki in a river. They'd survived the initial blast but were tainted with a grim reminder of Nuclear destruction, with tumors growing and deforming them, causing abominable mutations.

Shigeru worked tirelessly for a cure for radiation with the chemical, but the results of its usage were...

Horrific. None survived the procedure, until one, titled "Reed", had survived, and was seen as a good step forward in the progress of the cure, having 90% of the radiation go down inside him.
