Fullmoon

On the next morning Selin woke up, feeling fresh. After she got dressed, she went downstairs, in the kitchen, in order to make herself breakfast and coffee.

For some unknown reason, she was feeling a lot happier than before. Actually, there was a reason for her to be happy. She was healthy, alive... She was in love... These facts were enough for her to feel happy.

After breakfast, she decided to call the main reason for her happiness and check on him, to hear him, his voice and how he was doing.

"Günaydın!" Selin said, as Demir answered the phone

"Günaydın!" Demir replied

"I just wanted to check on how you are doing." she said

"I am fine. And you?" he replied

"I am fine, too." she answered

"Good." he replied "Let's meet at our place. What would you say?"

"Okay, let's meet there." she replied back "When should I come?"

"Whenever you like to." he answered "I am here, so it does not matter when."

"Okay, I will come." she replied "See you there."

"See you." he replied back

After Selin and Demir finished their conversation, Selin quickly got ready and went to the forest, to see, hug and kiss her beloved man. Thanks to his improved hearing, Demir could hear footsteps that were getting closer and closer to him.

"Hey!" Selin's voice sounded from behind him

Demir turned his head around and Selin smiled at him. He smiled back, stood up from the ground and went over to her.

"Aşkım!" Demir exclaimed, hugging her and kissing her shoulder

"Hmmm..." Selin purred like a kitten, hugging him back

Right at that moment Demir needed that hug. He needed to hug and feel her, to make sure everything was alright. Hugging her, he buried his face in the place between her neck and shoulder, and inhaled her scent. It was the first time Selin was seeing Demir like that. The way he was hugging her, inhaling her scent and kissing the crease between her neck and shoulder, and his body language in general, could tell her that something was not alright at all. He acted like something was worrying him.

"Look at me." Selin said, pulling away

Demir looked at her. She cupped his face with both of her hands and asked him "Demir, is everything alright, my love? You seemed worried about something."

Demir grabbed her hands with his own, brought them to his mouth and kissed her soft palms, closing his eyes. He then looked back at her eyes with his in love look. He smiled and answered "Yes, everything is fine, do not worry.", after which he kissed her forehead

She smiled and hugged him.

Selin and Demir remained in each other's hug for a while and then sat under the tree.

"Selin..." Demir turned to Selin

"Hmmm?!" she replied

"I will tell you something, but, please, do not get sad or angry..." he said

"What is it?" Selin asked

"Promise that you will not get sad or angry." he said

"Okay, I will not." she replied "Now, please, tell me."

"Yesterday, after I walked you home, on my way back to my place, I suddenly bumped into Kerem. Your ex." Demir started

"What?!" Selin exclaimed "What did he do? Did he do anything to you?"

"No, no, do not worry." he answered "We just talked."

"What did you talk?" she asked

"It was nothing serious." Demir answered "He just asked me whether I was your new lover, and similar."

"Well?" she asked

"The way he talked sounded like he has not given up on you." he answered "I am afraid he might do something to you."

"He can say whatever he wants to, I do not care about him." she replied "You, too, do not bother yourself with him, my love. Plus, he cannot do anything to me."

Demir smiled and kissed her forehead. He looked back at her and said "Yes, you are right. He cannot do anything to you. Until I am here, he cannot do anything to you."

The two locked gazes at each other and then their heads started pulling towards each other, like two magnets, until their lips met in a kiss that was charged with all the love that they had for each other.

*8PM the same day*

Both Demir and Selin were at their homes. Due to the fullmoon, Demir warned Selin to stay safe at home and not to go out alone, since there could be many dangerous creatures walking around the night streets of Istanbul. Selin listened to his advice and stayed at home, watching TV and chilling.

When she got bored, she walked over to the window and looked at the beautiful silvery moon. For a moment she closed her eyes and her beloved Demir entered her mind. She imagined herself looking at the fullmoon with him hugging her from behind. She then smiled and looked back at the moon.

"Seni çok seviyorum!" she said with an almost whispering voice

At his home Demir, too, was looking at the moon, knowing that Selin loved the moon and loved watching it. Watching it, he suddenly felt goosebumps that were a hint to the emotional and spiritual connection that he already had with Selin. He smiled and said with an almost whispering voice "Seni çok seviyorum!"

A little later Demir opened his laptop and booked himself a two-way ticket to New York for the following evening. He wanted to make a special gift for Selin and he knew what exactly it should be. And the only place he knew he could get it from was exactly New York - the place where he was turned into a vampire.

On the next day Selin and Demir met per his request, so that Demir could tell Selin about his short trip. When Selin reached the tree, she and Demir hugged tightly. They sat down and Selin asked Demir "What did you want to talk?"

He kissed her shoulder and answered "Tomorrow I am having a quick, urgent work in New York. I am flying tonight at ten o'clock."

"What work?" she asked

"You will see when it is time." he answered "It is, actually, a part of a surprise that I am preparing. Just be a little patient, okay?"

"Okay, I will not ask." she replied "Let it remain a surprise."

Demir smiled and kissed her.

"When are you coming back?" she asked

"I am flying back Thursday evening." he answered

"I will be missing you." she replied

He smiled and replied back "I will miss you, too."
