Chapter 2: Charlie's Pre-Teen Years

The summer break came to an end. Charlie woke up in the morning looking forward to start another part in her school years. "I hope to enjoy my middle school years with Emma. Who knows maybe we can make other friends! I get along with my peers but we aren't close as the friendship I have with Emma." Charlie thought. Charlie got ready and went to meet up with her parents. "Good morning, beautiful!," Lucifer said. "Good morning, mom and dad!," Charlie said. "Are ready to start your middle school years?," Lucifer asked as he helped his wife prepare breakfast. " I am, mom and dad!," Charlie said. " You will enjoy yourself." Lilith said as gave Charlie her breakfast. " Thank you mom!," Charlie said as she ate her bacon and egg sandwich with apple juice. Just as Charlie finished her breakfast, she heard Emma ring the doorbell and she grabbed her backpack to go greet her at the door. " Bye mom and dad!," Charlie said. "Enjoy your day, beautiful!," Lucifer said. "Bye Charlie!," Lilith said.

Charlie and Emma made their way to school. " I miss our time in our previous school." Emma said. "I do as well but I am excited to start new!," Charlie said. "Don't worry, we are always here for each other." Charlie then hugged Emma. They made it to Hell Middle School. "Here goes nothing." Emma said. "We are going to make new memories together!," Charlie said. " I am glad that we have classes together." Emma said. "We will always sit next to each other." Charlie said. They made their way into their first class and sat down together as the school bell rang for the day.

Break time came around. Charlie and Emma both sat under a tree and enjoyed the morning together. "You know what Char, I am now more confident that we are going to enjoy this." Emma said. "I knew that you give it a chance!," Charlie said. The school bell rang and they both went to the next class. Lunch time came around and they got their lunch and sat down. Then Charlie noticed a girl that she has never seen before. "'Em, I am going to over to her and invite her to sit with us." Charlie said. "She seems so sad and no one should be sad on their first day of school." "Go ahead Char, we welcome anyone." Emma said. Charlie then made her way. "Hi there, my name is Charlie!," Charlie said. "What's your name?" "My name is Eva!," Eva told her. "It's nice to you, Charlie." "Come with me and my best friend Emma." Charlie said. Eva then got up and took her lunch to hang out with both girls. "Hi, my name is Emma!," Emma said to Eva. "It's nice to meet you, Emma." Eva said. "I am Eva." "We noticed that you seemed sad." Charlie said. " If you feel comfortable, can you tell us why?" "Well guys, I was always bullied at the previous school that I attended back in my hometown." Eva said. "I just don't want the same to happen here." "Don't worry, me and Charlie will be here." Emma said. "We are your friends now!," Charlie said. "Do you mind if me and Emma hug you?"  "I don't at all," Eva said. They all hugged each other and finished off their lunch together. They made their way outside and sat on a bench. "I am bummed that we don't have classes together," Charlie said. "It would be fun to do work together." "Maybe later on, the 3 of us can have classes together." Eva said. "I had fun hanging out with both of you!" Charlie said happily. "I am excited to share more moments with of both of you." The school bell rang and the 3 girls made their way into their classes.

The school bell rang marking the end of the school day and Charlie saw both girls. They made their way home. Charlie made her way inside. Lucifer hugged her and asked, "How was your day, beautiful?" "Mom and dad, I made a new friend!," Charlie said with a smile on her face. "Her name is Eva. I know that me and Emma are going to make lots of fun memories with her!" "I am glad to hear that, beautiful!," Lucifer said. "Charlie, you are always so nice." Lilith said. "You both know me!," Charlie said as she made it into her room.

As she took time to her herself, Charlie couldn't help but think about Eva. "Boy, I still smell her perfume on my clothes. Which I don't mind." she thought. As Charlie was in bed, she can't stop thinking about the moment she reached out to Eva to hug her. "Why do I keep thinking about this? I should be thinking about a boy and not a girl in that way. If my parents ever found out, they would kill me and especially view in a different way. I just want to get to know her better. I need to tell Emma about this. I know she will accept me no matter what. I need to keep this feelings to myself. I can't hurt Eva like this. She is just so beautiful. I love her voice and smile!" Charlie then drifted off to sleep.

Charlie then invited Emma over for the weekend for a sleepover. "Hey Charlie!," Emma said as entered the doorway. "Hey Emma!," Charlie said. "Good afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Morningstar!," Emma said. "Hi sweetie!," Lucifer said. "Hi Emma!," Lilith said and then asked Charlie, "Where is Eva? Did her parents not allow her to come over?" "No mom, she couldn't come over since she went out of town for the weekend," Charlie said. Then Charlie thought, "I can't invite her over. This is where I get to tell Emma the feelings I have for Eva." "Maybe another time," Lilith said. "Girls, have fun and I am here if you need anything," Lucifer said. "Thank you dad!," Charlie said.

Charlie opened up her room door and let Emma in. "Hey Char, I noticed how you acted when your mom asked about Eva." Emma said and then asked, "Is everything okay with both of you?" "Of course, it is." Charlie said. "I just want to tell you something in relation to Eva." "Tell me, I am here." Emma said. "I will be honest with you, the moment I saw her there alone. I actually wanted to hug her and hold her hand. I felt something that I can't explain well. I felt love for her." Charlie said. "Char, really?" Emma said and then asked, "Have you ever had a crush on a boy? I am just asking so that I can understand you more." "I have but not to the point where I want to get to know them a lot more. I see most boys as a possible friend." Charlie said. "Just know that I will always accept you." Emma said. "Emma, I am bisexual," Charlie said as she felt tears from her eyes. "Thank you for always being so honest and especially being yourself with me." Emma said. "You are always my friend no matter what. It will stay between us." "Thank you Emma!," Charlie said as she wiped her tears away and hugged her.

The following weekend, Charlie decided to invite Emma and Eva out for a day of shopping at the mall and to the movie theater to watch a movie. Charlie couldn't help but admire Eva in every outfit she picked. "She is just so beautiful!," Charlie thought. "Hey Charlie, what are you thinking about?," Eva asked and then gave her an outfit to try out. "Shit, my bad Eva!," Charlie said giggling. They got their clothes and went to the register to check out. "Before we get to watch a movie, we should drop off our stuff at my house since I live close to the mall," Eva said. The girls agreed and went over to her house to drop off their items. They headed into the movies and watched a movie. Charlie was sitting next to Eva and she couldn't help but think about holding Eva's hand. She brushed off the idea but she is still in disbelief to have feelings for the same gender. They all went to a burger place after the movie and were talking about how they enjoyed the movie. The sunset marked the end of the day and the girls went to Eva's house again to get their items.

"Hey Charlie, I felt your energy around Eva earlier while shopping and at the movies." Emma told her. "If you want a day to be alone with her, then I can give you space for it." "No Emma, it's okay," Charlie sighed. "It won't be possible, I feel that can bring tension between me and her. I feel that she only into boys." "It's okay, Charlie!," Emma said as she hugged her. "If you don't want to say anything then I understand." "Thank you for always getting me!," Charlie said. "I still enjoyed my day with both of you. You both are the best and I am so grateful for both of you." Charlie then made to her home just in time.

"Hey beautiful, how was your day with the girls?," Lucifer said. "I enjoyed shopping with them." Charlie said. " I am glad that you did and that you returned home on time." Lucifer said. "Charlie, I can't wait to see you in your new outfits soon!," Lilith said. "Thanks mom and dad!," Charlie said as she made her way to her room. "Do you notice anything off about our Charlie?," Lilith asked. "No, I don't sweetheart! Maybe she is tired or it is this part of her life." Lucifer said. "Maybe so," Lilith said.

Charlie put away her new clothes and got ready for bed. She is still in disbelief of herself.

Time passed by and Charlie was excited to take part of the middle school graduation. She wore a purple dress but didn't wore the high heels her mom got her. This made her mom slightly mad but she brushed off a bit afterward. "I don't need the high heels. My black flats are better." she thought. Charlie saw her friends after the graduation and they stayed for the dance. Lucifer was in disbelief her daughter keeps growing up. He cried a bit as his thoughts drifted off of his daughter going to high school very soon.
