Mei looked around the halls and then at the students. They were all whispering about her. And they probably said some Korean slang she didn't understand. Did she do something wrong?
She hurried around to look for her department, wondering if there was something wrong with the way she dressed. She couldn't hear the whispers yet she knew they're talking about her the way their eyes followed her.
"Did you see that?"
"Daebak."
"She looks like a princess."
"She's so pretty!"
She hid her uneasiness as she entered the classroom. It seems like the teacher wasn't there yet. Though, it seemed the class was full of students. And their attention was all on her. She smiled at them before going up to the first empty seat. The seat seat next to her happened to be empty. Though she saw that it was preoccupied with a bag.
She looked around the classroom and realised, people were still looking at her. Did she really do something wrong?
She noticed a figure standing in front of her, tall yet lean. His hair was gelled to style a pomade, and his fashion wasn't bad either. He then, sat to the bench next to her and started taking a nap. This guy was her seat mate?
She slept on the table as well, her arms cushioned her head as she faced him. Gun had the same hairstyle lately. Pomade. It didn't even look good on them so why are they even doing it? Is it a korean trend? Or do they just really like how they look in that hairstyle?
She couldn't tell.
The guy opened his eyes and stared at her, for one to three seconds before facing the other side. She'd flinch. He caught her looking at him, he won't think she's weird. Right?
She sighed, looking at the blondie hair right in front of the seat next to hers. She could tell even from a mile away. This guy smells nice. It's the first time she'd smell a cold yet sweet smell. And it was the first time she'd like a scent this much. Other than Gun.
He'd notice her staring, and nervously looked back at her. Ah. Was her staring that obvious? She gave him a gentle smile before returning to the dark cradle of her arms.
She'd just sit there awkwardly, before a girl tapped her on the shoulder. She glanced at the black haired girl with long hair and dreamy eyelashes. Her eyelashes were dreamy. Like really.
"My name is Yui, what's your name?"
Mei smiled in relief, that someone approached her.
"Yui? Nice to meet you. I'm Mei."
Yui grabbed her arm, cozying up to Mei with a smile on her face. Wow. Her eyes were literally sparkling.
"Mei... Do you want to stream on Paprika with me?"
"Uh... Huh??"
"It's just, you look like a doll. Tell me your skincare routine~"
Yui asked coyly. And Mei chuckled gently.
"My apologies, I don't think I can do that. Thank you for the compliment. My skincare brand is •••."
Yui, along with the girls following on their conversation seemed shocked.
"•••?? You mean the limited one that is only sold to ten people in this world???"
Another girl joined in. She had black, medium poofy hair. And Mei gasped at how pretty she was.
"Oh? It was sold to only ten people?"
Mei asked in confusion. Her whole life, her servants did everything for her. So she might as well be clueless about where the products she used came from.
"Woah. Aren't you like, super rich?"
The medium haired girl added. Looking at Mei curiously. Mei chuckled, finding the situation a bit burdening.
"I'm not. It's my parents that are." She said.
"That's the same thing!" Zoe said playfully. Poking mei in the shoulder. After the class saw that Yui and Zoe were talking to the new girl, who actually looked friendly. They began to crowd her.
"Is your hair colour died?"
"Your name doesn't sound Korean."
"I love your skirt."
"You're really pretty!"
"Your eyes are blue?"
They crowded her seat and threw questions at her, one after another. Yui managed to stay in her place. But the poor Zoe who was pushed out of the crowd stomped her feet in annoyance. Mei sighed nervously. Well this was a bit..
"Uh... My hair? It's dyed.."
She replied timidly, providing them a sweet smile in response. Though, they all kept buzzing her with questions. What are they, reporters? Just then, their series of questions were interrupted by the sound of one of the people in the crowd bumping into Mei's seat mate. The whole class looked scared of him for some reason, and they all remained silent. Watching the grumpy guy nervously.
He glared at the girl, who was the cause of this mob. Mei. She glanced back at him with a smile, in which he slammed his table.
"Stop buzzing and leave that girl alone."
He pierced his glare to the mobs, who flinched and crept back to their seat. She just looked at him for a while, and chuckled.
"Thanks for the help." She whispered.
He narrowed his eyes at her before looking away. Though the back of his neck was red.
Mei chuckled, he must be shy.
Just then, the class began to whisper again as a pretty guy walked in. Wearing... All luxury or something. He then sat next to her, and his face was beaming as she attempted to look at him.
Wow. He's handsome. Like really. Just like the handsome, gentle and kind prince she'd always imagined; even if he wasn't blonde.
He'd look at her for a moment, widening his eyes.
"P-Pretty..."
His face flushed as he said it out loud, he quickly returned to his seat and started telepathically talking to the blondie in front of him. He talked while the other nodded. It's a pretty weird conversation.
She swore she could've heard him say oppo
(朋友;同事 - Friend, colleague or someone working in the same political party.)Well. Whatever. She sighed, scribbling some lilies as she waited for the teacher to come.
A few seconds before the bell rang, the teacher came in to announce that they had a transfer students. Most of them already saw her though.
"Mei, please come stand in front of the board." He invited her up, to which Mei got up and walked there. The classroom was filled with silence, the guys internally crying out with joy whilst the girls were a bit more alert.
"Hello."
She stood on the platform, a gentle smile painting her face as her dimples became visible.
"My name is Mei Ying, I'm from China and i will be staying here during my time in Korea. I hope we can get along."
She bowed her head lightly. There wasn't a hint of nervousness in her tone as she stood towards the class.
"You may go back to your seat now."
The teacher sternly says, before taking the roll call. She walked back to her seat, though she felt regretful. She'd expected the girls and boys were divided by seats, but it seems not. Seeing as she's sitting in the middle of the prince like guy and the pomade guy.
"I'm Daniel." The prince like guy introduced himself with a smile on his face.
She nodded as she was back to scribbling some lilies. "Mei Ying. You can call me Mei."
Had it been her childhood self, she'd have fallen for this prince like guy. Though it was different now. She wasn't really interested in that field anymore, she was more interested in the 'angel' type of guy. Thinking about that, she looked at the pomade guy and chuckled to herself. He didn't feel like an angel at all.
