Well, That's Life

"Andy, be careful son!"

"Okay Mom!!"

"Alright guys, mission: find the elf princess is in action."

Andy was out at a garage sale just for fun with his mom while the toy army was out to find their long-lost ruler. not that Andy had forgotten about her but he just didn't know what to do about it.

"How are you so sure we'll find her here buzz?"

"Didn't she have a name?"

Everyone fell silent at that comment. They had treated her as such a stranger that they didn't even care to ask her name. How could they have been so cruel? Woody sighed pitifully shaking her head.

"How could we be so inhuman to have done that to her?"

Buzz Lightyear frowned with an alarm tingling in his head and following logic he couldn't hold himself back.

"Technically we are not humans so your assertion is wrong."

"At least you're shaped like them I'm a dinosaur."

"Oh, would you stop! You know what I meant. now sto-"

"W–Woody? B-buzz?.. Is that you??"

Their little heads snapped towards the little voice they barely heard had she not been standing so close to them. Fauna saw it in slow motion how their lips curved in huge smiles and they all ran to her... and immediately she saw her doom of being crushed under them.

"Guys no wait—ah!!"

"Princess!!we finally found you!!"

 "we're so happy to see you."

"We missed you so much."

"Hmm, we did."

each affirmation was louder than the one before and thank god they were under a table hidden from the human eyes or else the secret would've been out. in all those lovely words fauna's lungs had a hard time functioning properly.

"Ugh! guys I can't breath.."

"Huh.. oh, sorry sorry."

"Pheww..."

She looked at them after getting up and dusting herself off. They were.... Actually happy to see her... didn't they all hate her and avoid her? She couldn't understand the reaction at all. And above all that what were they even doing here.... If they were here did it mean Andy was here too?

Woody came closer to her and bowed, actually treating her like a princess. And then he held her hand in his, finally putting an end to their misery.

"You should come back, princess.... Andy misses you...we missed you."

"you.... Did?"

Buzz stepped forward.

"Of course, we did. We realize how wrong we had been shunning you out like that... we all are different but that didn't mean we should leave you out.... We forgot that Andy cherished all of us equally and we were a home for you...we are vey sorry."

A little sniff had them all shocked. Fauna was crying and they all didn't know what to do about it. Instead of fixing it, they thought they made it even worse.

"oh oh... we just made it worse didn't we?"

"W-why are you crying princess w-we're really sorry if you hate and don't want to come back don't worry we–"

"No no, i-"

She wiped her tears took a deep breath and smiled at them. they were here to take her back with them and keep her there. to be her family once again.

"I'm just so happy you guys."

"you are?

"Of course, I am... i thought you all hated me and... "

"we...hope you forgive us for that and come back with us.."

"and about coming back... I want to but I can't."

"Why is someone holding you hostage? We'll eliminate any danger"

"Yeah, just name it."

And they were in a circle with their tactics ready to defeat any insect that came their way...well, that's all they could do. Humans were way out of their league. Fauna giggled.

"You guys... No one is holding me hostage. But I've found someone who needs me more than Andy."

"Really? So you won't be coming back anymore?... are you sure it's not because of us?"

"No Woody, it's not you guys and I forgive you all so don't worry but.... Hey, I have a plan. If you can–"

"We're ready just say the word."

"At your command princess.."

fauna giggled at their readiness of taking her back in the family. she finally felt included and she wanted someone else to feel that feeling too.

"Wow, Lilian your drawing is good."

"Not bad yourself Andy."

"I never realized we were in the same school."

"You are a social butterfly. Noticing an introvert like me is hard, right."

you might be wondering how that happened. Well. that night the toys had the two kids meet each other somehow, and the both of them bonded over the elf princess. And that is how Andy found a best friend in Lilian and the toy family was united again... from time to time.

"Lilian, it's time to go home.."

"Coming mom!... you wanna keep fauna today?"

"Why don't you ask her?"

"Say what fauna?"

The princess turned around, from whatever abuse she was doing to Woody's face with a sharpie that was too big for her while Buzz was going bonkers over it. She smiled at Lilian.

"Think I can stay tonight."

"Alright then... I'll see you tomorrow andy."

"Hmm. I'll walk you to the door.... Be nice you guys."

"Got it!"

Wait did I forget to tell you something?... oh right.

Andy now knew the truth about the toys and was exhilarated by the fact that they could hear him all along and now they could even talk to him. it was a bit too much to take in but he slowly adjusted to it. his mom was still not given access to that knowledge.

Lilian built her home again...with her parents now happy and peaceful together. infact, they even became family friends with Andy's family. there were still arguments left, no doubt about that, but this time the method of handling them was a healthy one instead of just shouting it out.

Fate... truly what a beautifully risky forte. It really puts things where they need to be in such ways no one can guess. And when that happens it all falls right into place.

The happy smiles..

The lovely hugs..

The cheerful voices..

And the prettiest of days...

Magical, isn't it?
