I lean on a wall on the way home. I'm so tired! This day has totally worn me out! I've been spending all of my time with the Karasuno High School volleyball team, hanging out, helping with training and showing off some tricks.

Despite Nishinoya being far better as a libero, he has been begging to be tutored by me. He's learnt two new moves, if anything, I'm the one learning.

"You've been so kind to take all of this time out of your vacation to help support our team, Asha-chan! We're so grateful! Especially Noya!" Sugar-chan smiles kindly at me.

"He's barely leaning from me." I put my hands up in surrender.

"I don't know, that move...that did you call it...? Road kill?"

"That's right, it's just a silly trick, like setting to the setter, completely valid. I used it in competitions." I smile.

"That will help us a lot, Asha-chan."

The twilight is so comforting. It's so beautiful outside, days are longer and nights are shorter. Week by week, the weather gets warmer. I'm loving being here, the summer is slowly getting into Sugar-chan's reach. The prospect of a gap year means I can support my friends throughout the year, before exams and after. I'm just so happy to be here! Soon Karasuno will be playing in their first competition and I'm so excited to be there for them! It's going to be amazing! I mean, my friends will be competing in their first officiual matches of the year next week! Next freaking week! Time flies when you're supporting a school team.

"Are we still hanging out tomorrow afternoon, right, Asha-chan?" Daichi asks. I smile and nod.

"The beach, right, volleyball on the sand. It'll help boost your spring." I start to skip.

"I don't think Hinata needs anymore spring." Asahi laughs uneasily.

"I don't think he does either, but it's always helpful to invest time in building up his talent. He's a middle blocker after all. A really short one with that. He needs all the height he can get.... That was rude of me. Sorry." I hang my head.

"We understand what you mean though, Asha-chan." Asahi assures.

"Phew! I didn't want to offend!" I smile.

Sugar-chan leads us to his house and opens the door. We all remove our shoes before rushing to the sitting room to relax. Daichi and Asahi delve under the sofa and produce a set of beanbags to sit on while I curl up on the armchair and let my sore muscles relax and try and ease the aches and pains.

"How bad did that ball hit you, Asha-san?" Daichi asks, gingerly taking off my hooded sweatshirt. He grimaces at the bruises forming on my forearms. They feel better than they look, but that really hurt. I've never been able to receive spikes from Hinata without being knocked onto my butt. I'm either too ready for impact and my legs give out or I'm not focused enough and the ball huts me with such force that I keel over.

"Well I fell." I laugh, trying to stop them from worrying.

"That's a ball shaped bruise, it has nothing to do with your falling." Asahi muses, looking unhappy.

"That wasn't you, it was from when I wasn't ready to receive from Hinata." I excuse, waving my hands in a way to demonstrate that this had nothing to do with Asahi, the glass hearted ace and his amazing spikes.

"I'll get the frozen peas." Sugar-chan laughs, heading into the kitchen.

"It's not that serious, Sugar-chan!" I huff.

There's a knock at the door.

"Can someone get that?" Sugar-chan asks as he comes in with a compress constructed of a dish towel and frozen peas. Asahi opens the door and bows politely.

"Is Asha here?" I flinch, that's my dad. And he's speaking English, none of them are that great at English. Clearly unsure of what my father just asked, Asahi shrugs his shoulders and stands aside.

"Asha. You've just got a letter." my dad says, taking hold of my bruised forearm and jerking me up, pulling me to my feet, knocking frozen peas onto the wooden floor of Sugar-chan's home.

"Jesus Asha, you spend more time at Sugarwawa Cushy's house than you do at home with us! You look way too comfortable at their house!" I am chided by my father. I opt out of arguing with him. Now isn't the time to make a scene.

I spot suitcases at the door and grimace. Another business trip? No wait, there are too many bags! Are my parents having a romantic weekend in Venice. They tend to do that every once in a while. Ahh the perks of money.

"Asha, hon, we just got a letter. Cambridge University wants YOU!"

"I don't understand..." I trail off.

"Cambridge University sought you out in order to inform you of an opening. They want you to do your degree there, starting September."

"But..." I murmur."Asha, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You've been recruited for an interview. So we're leaving for home tomorrow. We'll be back by Staurday evening"

My heart sinks. I'm going to miss Karasuno's preliminary matches. Hell, I might miss all of their games if they go down at one of the early rounds. I cross my fingers, hoping that I'll make it in time to see them play. I'm almost certain that they'll get to play Aoba Johsai and I don't want to miss that.

So much for a gap year.
