Spencer's forehead rested against Steve's chests, one hand clutched the material of his shirt by his abdominal area, whilst with the other, her fingers dug into his shoulders. "I'm glad you're okay," she utters, and Steve becomes confused, as she was the one who just had the shit beaten out of her, not him, he wasn't hurt at all, but all Spencer cared about was if Steve was alright. Of course she checked on Dustin first, he was the first one she made her way too, but now leaning into Steve for strength, she utters her words to him, and Steve, despite the situation, felt a bubble of warmth in his stomach. He doesn't think he's ever been cared for the same way Spencer Henderson cares for him.

SUMMARY!
Dustin Henderson loves his older sister, Spencer Henderson, with all his heart. He constantly looks up to her and wonders how she manged to stay so good after all the pain she's endured. Dustin didn't know much about what happened to her, but he knew her life when she lived alone with their father in Hawkins was not a life any child would want. However, the pain in her veins ran deeper than he realised - for the secret she had to carry with her since she was a toddler - she never once feared that people may find out about it, not when she made her body, her mind, and her heart forget all about the power that runs through her.
But Dustin loves his sister so much he wonders how on earth she survived without an older sibling herself - Dustin knows for sure that if it wasn't for Spencer, Dustin wouldn't know what to do most of the time. Sure, that was natural for a kid, but he knows that without Spencer, he may have never taken some of those risks in his life - perhaps him and his mother would never have moved to Hawkins.
Spencer was the first person Dustin has ever truly known, as in she was his first playmate, then she was his first friend, and later his best friend. He doesn't want to know what life would have been like without Spencer. Even though they stopped living together for almost seven years of their childhood, Spencer was still the best sister he could have ever asked for.
