"I felt like I found a new friend when listening to your story"

Vernon was still frozen in the practice room when he saw what had just happened. He truly saw the silhouette of a woman in the mirror, and the silhouette disappeared as the heavy rain outside also stopped. Vernon did believe in ghosts, but he was quite sure that the woman was not a ghost.

Even if the silhouette of the woman he just saw was a ghost, then why did she narrate as if she were still alive? Many questions lingered in his mind, and he wanted to find answers when the silhouette of the woman appeared for the third time. This meant that Vernon would seek answers tomorrow.

"If she appears again tomorrow, I will find out what's going on."

Meanwhile, Phoebe was still lying in her bed.

"Ah, it feels so tiring when I have to meet him. It's like all my energy is drained when I have to leave my own body. But, only this way, I can meet him."

It was already 03:00 KST, but Phoebe couldn't close her eyes. Her schedule today was quite busy because she had to visit her grandmother in the nursing home.

"Why should I keep visiting my grandmother if she never remembers me?"

Phoebe just stared at the ceiling of her room, then looked at the walls and study table filled with Vernon's photocards.

"Why was I born like this? Full of suffering. If I were born again, I would want to be happier, have a happy family. But, if I'm happy with my family and my life, would I still like Vernon?"

She kept asking many questions about her life.

"Ah, I'm almost 30 years old, but my life is still like this. What should I do, Vernon?"

She talked to Vernon's photocard on her study table again. Once again, Phoebe just stared at Vernon's photocard while contemplating her life.

"I want to confide in you again. Why did the rain suddenly stop?"

Phoebe was irritated as she stomped her foot on the bed. Suddenly, she heard the sound of rain.

"Wow, it's raining!"

She closed her eyes and continued thinking about Vernon. When she opened her eyes, her soul was already in Vernon's apartment.

"Ah, you went straight home after practice. Where are you?"

Phoebe searched for Vernon in that luxurious apartment. She didn't find Vernon's presence, then she tried sitting and waiting for the owner to arrive.

Suddenly, the door opened. Vernon, wearing a black hoodie, immediately dropped his body on the sofa. Phoebe, who was sitting on the sofa, was surprised because Vernon's face was now very close to her body.

She looked at Vernon's face, which she usually could only see on a photocard. She moved her head left and right while continuously smiling at Vernon, who was tired and had his eyes closed.

"Are you tired? You must be tired because you have to prepare for the concert in Japan and Korea. Ah, you also have an Asian concert schedule, right?"

Vernon, with closed eyes, tried hard not to open them.

"Ah, she left and moved to my house," Vernon thought.

"Every time I meet you, my energy feels drained. I get tired immediately. Earlier, when the rain stopped, I wanted to sleep. But suddenly, the rain came, and I immediately thought of you," Phoebe continued telling her story, thinking that Vernon couldn't hear her.

"Do you know, Vernon, I'm actually tired of living like this. Working until late at night, having to freelance, but I still don't have much money. For the past 10 years, my life has been all about work, work, and work. But no one appreciates it," Phoebe got up from her seat and approached Vernon, who seemed to be asleep.

"Wow, you look very handsome up close like this. Looking at you like this gives me extra energy."

"You must be thinking that I like you because you're handsome. Well, that's true, hehe. But, you truly are my inspiration when I face tough days. It's like I don't have the spirit to live anymore. I have a lot of debts, I only have one friend because everyone keeps avoiding me, so what else can I expect from my life other than you?"

Vernon could feel Phoebe's breath, and her face was now only 20 cm away from his. Vernon kept trying to keep his eyes closed because he was afraid that if he opened them, he would see a terrifying figure. He just sighed while continuing to listen to Phoebe's story.

"Tonight, I will meet my grandmother. She probably won't remember me even though I hug her tightly every time I see her. I feel really alone."

"I've liked you for 9 years, which means you've been with me during tough times. This is the fourth time I've met you in person. If we meet in the real world, would you recognize me?"

Vernon opened his eyes. Now, his eyes met Phoebe's. Phoebe was shocked by this situation, and she tried to move away.

"Why did you suddenly open your eyes?" Phoebe was annoyed, then sat next to Vernon.

While Vernon was still motionless because he had just stared at Phoebe. He felt the presence of Phoebe directly, even though it was just her soul.

"Thank you for listening to my story. It seems I have to go back because I need to sleep hehe."

"Good night," Vernon unconsciously said that, which surprised Phoebe.

Phoebe looked at Vernon; luckily, he immediately closed his eyes again.

"Good night? Did you say that to me? Are you dreaming?"

Phoebe approached Vernon's sleeping face again. She tried to touch his face, but she couldn't.

"Good night, my prince. I know you were just dreaming earlier. Don't forget to get enough rest. Tomorrow, I won't be able to meet you even if it rains. I want to spend time with my grandmother. But, you have to promise to recognize me when we meet, hehe. Next time we meet, it's your turn to tell the story."

Phoebe left immediately. Vernon opened his eyes.

"Who are you?"
