My castle had become even bigger again so I decided to do some exploring.

Between the winding hallways, there laid dead ends after dead ends and never-ending hallways that lead you nowhere.

The castle was like a maze.

To put it simply, the design of the castle was perfect to trap any intruders!

My heart was brimming with happiness looking at the state of my castle.

It felt like my castle was getting closer to the ideal image of a last boss's castle!

People who came here would surely say "As expected from the last boss's castle!".

I went inside to one of the dead-end rooms and saw a big treasure chest in there.

To be precise, there was nothing in the room but the big treasure chest.

The chest was beautifully decorated with gems and gold.

It was so big, big enough to fit my whole body and still left a good amount of space to make me not feel claustrophobic.

I tried to knock on the chest but nothing happened.

I wonder who had put this chest here?

Maybe Collin...?

No... Judging from how gaudy this chest was, I'm sure it must be one of Lugrant's creations.

Maybe Lugrant was the one that made the chest and Collin filled it with treasures?

After all, those two had a weird fixation with how a Maou Castle should look like.

For the sake of their ideal image of Maou Castle, they had done multiple renovations in the castle.

Not too long ago, I was strolling around the castle like usual when I realized that all of the stained glasses in the castle were replaced with crystal.

I was shocked.

I couldn't fathom how expensive it must've been to replace all of the stained glasses with actual crystal!

Although I had to admit those crystals were really beautiful.

They also replaced all of the candlesticks in the hallway leading to the Audience Chamber with crystal skulls.

The sight of all those crystal skulls was both beautiful and frightening.

I felt goosebumps just looking at them.

I tried to protest because I wasn't good with scary stuff but they both turned me down without any second thought.

"This is what a Maou Castle should look like!" was what they said in unison.

Uuuugh... Ever since Lugrant and Collin joined our ranks, we don't have to worry about money anymore but on the other hand I feel like they're hijacking my authority as the owner of this castle...

Now then... I wonder what Collin put inside this treasure chest?

It must be something beautiful since they both didn't bother to spare any expenses for the sake of this castle.

I'm curious....

What made me even more curious was that the chest was not tightly locked, it was slightly opened as if inviting me to take a peek inside.

Since... It was not locked... I think... It must be fine for me to take a peek, right? Right??

Losing my curiosity, I held the chest and lifted the lid.
