"Mama!~"

The harpy children chirped excitedly at me.

The way they ran to me with those little legs and feathered arms was so adorable!

Ah, one of them fell.

"Ugh.. Uwahhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

A-ah! He's crying!

"Pain, pain, go away!~"

I approached him and tucked him in my arms.

"Hic.. Hic.."

The harpy boy sobbed into my chest so I rubbed his back to calm him down.

"There, there. It's alright."

"Y-Yeah... Hic.."

He was still sniffing a little but he seemed to be calm enough.

The boy handed me a piece of paper.

"Mama.. This.. For you."

"Oh?"

Upon closer look, there was a drawing painted with black crayon on that paper.

Is this me?

"Oooh~ What a nice drawing!"

"Ehehe~"

Embarrassed, the boy shyly snuggled to me. His fluffy feather felt ticklish against my neck.

So adorable!!

I couldn't stop rubbing my cheeks against him, he was just too cute to resist!

Ah~

I had to go to search for another demon soon but he was just so adorable I'm in a pinch!

Now then.

According to information gathered by Alexius, there was a basilisk living around this place.

Inside this dense forest, there were a lot of stone statues lying around.

I had to be careful with my footing or I'd trip myself or even worse, fall from a cliff like I had done before I met Zeno.

I used 'Detection' to scan the surrounding area.

LV 320 Basilisk.

Oh? His level was pretty high.

The rustling sound of the grass was the only thing that accompanied me as I kept on venturing inside the forest.

After walking for a while, I came into a clearing and there stood something that resembled a...House? A shack?

"Maybe this is Basilisk's nest?"

The house was surrounded by a wooden fence.

Judging from the structure, it seemed the house was made by a human.

The gate creaked as I opened it, it must've been a while since someone last used this gate.

"A visitor?"

The door to the house opened, revealing a beautiful red-haired young man.

His long hair was neatly tucked into a braid over his shoulder but his eyes..

His eyes were covered by a black sash, maybe he was blind? Or maybe he didn't want anyone to see his eyes?

Rainbow-coloured scales cascaded all over his skin from the tip of his pointy ear up to his arm.
