40: Kraken (NSFW)

We were having breakfast in the dining hall when Velke's expression turned sour.

Seemed like he had something up in his mind.

"There's a report of a demon sighting," Velke said, breaking the silence.

"Oh!"

"There's a sighting of a giant squid-like demon on the Sulva Coast," Velke explained even further.

"Squid..." I trailed.

"A squid." He confirmed.

<<It might be a Kraken.>>

Velke got that information from reading what seemed like a newspaper in this world.

"Is that a human newspaper?" I asked.

"Yes. It's called Razuri Journal and apparently, it's a pretty popular listing magazine in the human's society."

"So you also read that kind of stuff, huh..."

"Yes, since Master once said to me, 'know thy enemy and know thyself'."

I see. I did say that before.

Velke really took my words to heart.

I gulped down on my breakfast quickly so I could prepare to go to the Sulva Coast.

Swim ring, check!

Velke insisted on coming with me but since we didn't know for sure whether there was truly a demon or not, I decided to go alone.

Teleportation room was really a convenient thing.

In the blink of an eye, I was already standing below the glittering sun, near the rippling ocean.

Yessssh! It's the ocean!!

I ran straight toward the blue ocean in excitement.

Lv 80 Kraken!

Oh. He's there.

I used Call of The Demon King.

With this skill, the nearby demon will come to me.

I firmly grabbed my swim ring and swam toward the never-ending blue tide.

I didn't know how long I'd been swimming but my feet couldn't reach the bottom anymore.

I was a little bit scared and as I let the wave take me, a strange thing happened.

The water around me started to bubble.

SPLASH

All of sudden a large squid, or rather... A Kraken appeared near me!

S-so... Big.

The Kraken that appeared before me must be at least 20 meters long!

I didn't know whether the Kraken understood me or not but the Kraken spit out ocean water at me in return.

((Bu-ah!!!))

Using his arm-like tentacle, the Kraken stabbed at my swim ring, making the poor floatie burst out of life.

The big, slimy tentacles wrapped themselves around me and dragged me down toward the bottomless ocean.

I'm going to drown!!!

My mind went into panic but the system calmly replied.
